It's like toilet roll and hand sanitiser all over again ..

Except this time they really are limited, but still, the frenzy is fully justified :laugh8:

I'm currently scraping together every penny to get a mighty batch of my favourite hops from them before they're gone forever.

Perhaps a little over dramatic but I keep envisioning us all as impossibly wide eyed waifs, wringing our obligatory straw hats and asking Cross My Loof
"but...what will become of us?".

I really think there is an opening here for some budding entrepreneur to get into the yeast side of the business. Bevie has made a success with a yeast portfolio named after an Aussie fish then I am sure the same could happen with CML.
It has a good following just needs needs more promoting. Using an iconic name for something Scottish, CML Brave Heart yeast, Highland Yeast with some fancy designed packets. If an Aussie fish can do it so can some Scottish yeast , a big market over the pond, many of whom like to claim Scottish or Irish ancestry.

I think they usually take their site down once a week for a refresh, don't think it's something new. Perhaps more frequent now as they drop stock levels. Luckily I am fully stocked until 2027 on yeast and a good few brews on hops.

Do they use this banner every time stating "Retirement announcement here"

I've just placed an order for 1.3 kg of hops. I'll see how I get on with this batch and might place another order before the year's end.

It’s a real shame—there’s no one else quite filling that gap. Not to criticise any of the other companies, like many people, I use different sites for different reasons. But in this day and age, I really appreciated the shopping experience they offered. Odd as it sounds, it felt quite personal with their follow-up thank-yous, and it was refreshing not to be bombarded with emails. That said, I do find the occasional email about new products and sales quite useful - in short I'm never happy 😂

CML is close to a 'local supplier' of hops for me and I too used to really appreciate the follow up emails. Yesterday, I put in an order for 700g of hops, cryohops and some of their yeasts. I'm going to miss having a library of their yeasts to keep for whenever I might need them as well. I wasn't that keen on their grain offerings generally as they were only available crushed, but as a short notice supplier who could get something here within 24 hours if need be they were brilliant.

Pretty much the only place I can get free shipping. Everything else is £12+ - even when they claim to have free shipping if you spend over a certain amount. Well not up here.
Love their small amounts of all kinds of cool hops too.
Maybe someone will take over.
