.I like facts.
That would be the list of ingredients.
The name of the product is largely irrelevant. The ingredients are the important bit.

On another note. I know several vegetarians, and sometimes they will say to me that a vegetarian product they have tried tastes like a meat product they used to eat. Often it seems like their memory of the meat is actually quite distorted because the vegetarian alternative they mention tastes nothing like meat at all.

I mentioned beyond meat earlier, this is a good example. Texturally it isn’t significantly different (at least in the burgers and sausages) but flavour wise it tastes nothing like meat at all I think.

Threatened by vegans you can't be serious this is about labling incorrectly no more.

Perhaps we'll follow the EU's lead and ban the usage of words that have historically been associated with meat products from being used in vegetarian products. I'm not fussed either way. It makes more sense to me to call something a vegetarian burger than a vegetarian disc or something equally stupid.

And there is an element of people feeling threatened or offended by others judging them for eating meat. Even looking at this purely as a labelling issue, farmers feel threatened by the enormous growth of meat-alternatives, otherwise they wouldn't be lobbying government so heavily.

Hey Dave I'm not trying to bash or belittle anyone....
Just trying to understand the food labelling and the mental attitude of what's been mentioned..ie. veg food made to look like and called "meat".
It's like a contradiction...I don't care if people like meat or not...
I guess I need to start using emojis (I really don't love them). I was taking a pi** (is that how you use that idiom?), in general.
I should group-apologize. I'm not going to but I probably should.
Yeah, being a vegan or vegetarian is what it is. As I said to the other guy who told me to chill, I'm a rare to mid rare type (or something like that).
And I wasn't even drinking....
Cheers.

Ha!
Taking "a piss" is going for a "leak". Taking "the piss" is general harmless, fun poking, understanding joke... but can be non fun in a malicious way..making fun or taunting..or. Can be someone deliberately taking advantage.

That actually isn't cool to say. Anyway, I started it by not using emojis to show I was kidding around.
Isn’t that like a permanent state of affairs for several countries anyway?

I have a recipe for Mincemeat Wine if anyone wants it incidentally...

I remember in the “old days” we used to have hamburgers and beef burgers so veggie burgers would seem to fit. There was pork sausages as well as beef sausages and we now have turkey sausages as well, so veggie sausages seems to be appropriate as well.

Anyone try the "Impossible Burger"? I don't know if that's a brand or what it's called. Burger King has them. Wondering if it's worth trying? As I've said a few times, I'm a meat eater.

It was a direct ***. Like I said, I started it by not being clear that I was kidding around.
The culture here is very much about "taking a piss" (sorry :laugh8:) and rarely mean to cause offense. Feel free to make a *** at us. Seriously have at it, it's all good fun and you won't have to look hard to find something ridiculous to mock. I'm from Northern Ireland so it should be especially easy

Beef burgers were invented because people thought Hamburgers were made from ham rather than originating in Hamburg and made from beef. Just like people thought Brains ******* were made from brains. They were renamed to Mr Brains *******. So a veggie burger would be OK as would a fish burger.
