You are right on both countsNHS staff are the new footsoldiers. I bet very few NHS staff ever thought they would have to sacrifice their lives for others. My son is a community pharmacist and yet his business ensures he has PPE. I believe part of the problem is a large monolithic organisation finds it hard to act in a timely and agile manner. So if their advance planning has any flaws they are difficult to easily correct.

Sorry you didn't like my post but this is just my opinion. Here is a perfect example of the type of post i referred to -
Because there is fault here. There should have been proper risk assessment and control measures in place before putting NHS staff in harm's way. Exercise Cygnus (or whatever it was called) appears to have identified that there was a significant lack of PPE in place for medical staff in the case of a pandemic disease, so this lack of suitable control measures was foreseen but not acted upon. Even the Daily Telegraph is highlighting that the government has tried to bury the results of this exercise. But why do you feel it necessary to blame someone?
There is an old forum I need to observe and that is "don't feed the troll" good night.
The point I was trying to make was that it was someone's opinion, which the gathering of I assume was the intention of the creation of the thread, on a forum which is discussing a topic specifically about how the Tories are handling the crisis. What other responses were expected?
And likewise there are many who will critisise no matter what, only human nature to attack a party one didn't vote for. I remember reading a psychological report about the US government shutdown, how the democrat voters blamed the republicans and visa versa republican voters blamed the democrats. Not rocket science, Kelly Bundy could've worked that out.I actually think the Government have done not too bad since the lockdown (even though I criticised them heavily before then) but there are people on here who will defend any criticism of the Government, especially Boris no matter what.
Is that also regardless of the Guardians political view point, it doesn't go without notice the democratic socialist countries who have also been caught with their pants down don't get a mention.https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...tain-get-its-response-to-coronavirus-so-wrongA long but interesting read, it covers alot of points made in this thread regardless of your political view point.
I know, I have a little black book, all those admitting to voting Labour are in it.Just for the record I am a life long labour voter I have never and will never vote Conservative.
I enjoy reading different view points can you post a link to some info that you base your opinion onAnd likewise there are many who will critisise no matter what, only human nature to attack a party one didn't vote for. Why do people like to play the blame game? Some do it to to feel better, some to feel superior and more important in themselves even though the blame is in retrospect.
Doesn't matter which party was in charge, outcome will still be the same, still got to emerge from the trenches yet, the virus will still be there, watching, waiting. So far from over.
Have to see how Brazil and Sweden fare with the herd immunity concept, are they right, or are they right, as Philip Marlowe would say.

The thread was originally created to keep the tory hating BS out of the coronavirus thread (have a read of a few pages from the first post ) as it was pretty obvious from the start certain members were using the virus as an excuse to bash the tories.
I read different view points, not enjoyably, media is either left or right wing so I take no notice of either, what opinion would you like.I enjoy reading different view points can you post a link to some info that you base your opinion on
Blair was never Labour, in my opinion. New Labour embraced a lot of Thatchers "reforms" too readily even if they were sugar-coated with a veneer of social awareness. Possibly a fair balance at the time, but centrists seem to drift to the right and it was only core Labour that put a break on that. In any case Blair was completely sold out and compromised by the time he stepped down. But then who do you vote for when it's a FPTP system rather than PR? I voted for Blair in the day.I keep reading this thing about ppe being sent to china at the start of this pandemic, with hindsight it was probably the wrong to do, we are famous the world over for being helpful to nations in crisis so hitting someone with a big stick for helping their fellow man is wrong and 2 faced, i to was a labour voter all my life but i woke up when Blair was in charge, the last time i voted was 16-6-16 and when this is over 17.4 million will be prooved right, anyway enough of that i didn't vote for this goverment but they are doing no better and no worse than others
Well if you take no notice, why bother having an opinion,I read different view points, not enjoyably, media is either left or right wing so I take no notice of either, what opinion would you like.
