Mistakes!!!
Hi guys, newbie here, again! I don't know why I did it but I did. I meant to rack off my wine before adding the stabiliser and then stirring with my de-gassing wand but for some reason I didn't rack it even though I had the clean demijohn ready. By the time I realised I had stirred up the yeast cake but luckily not the oak chips. I then racked it off into the clean demijohn.
I'm going to keep de-gassing over the next day or so. Will it be ok? I'm guessing it might just take a bit longer to clear? I could always rack it off again?
What would you guys recommend?
Cheers
Glen

I wouldn't bother de-gassing. I'd just slap myself on the wrist and leave it alone for a couple of weeks in a cool dark place.

By that time, the sediment should have settled so you can rack it into a second vessel and then go through the procedure that you should have done in the first place.

Yeah I think that's what I'm going to do Dutto, it's started to settle again so hopefully no harm done.
I still can't believe I did it though.

It settled nicely so today I racked it into a clean, sterilised DJ and de-gassed it with my wand (wand as recommended on this forum). I had a cheeky taste and I'm very happy, no harm done at all.
Phew it looks like I got away with that one!
Cheers for the advice guys.

Glad to hear it turned out well and the degassing wand did its job it is one of the best bits of kit I've made.
