Make sure you clean EVERYTHING that could possibly have come into contact with it. You are probably best doing a deep clean of all your equipment. It's a pain in the hole, I know, but better safe than sorry. Last deep clean I did took two days to complete.

Had a little taste of mine this evening after checking the FG (1.016 for anyone interested).

Coming along quite nicely, think this will be one I'll definitely enjoy through the winter months.

Only slight issue is that it's not quite as dark as I'd expected. More of a dark brown than black. I'd probably add a touch more chocolate malt or perhaps some Carafa Special if I brew it again.

Just finished bottling 30 500ml bottles. I hate bottling. But I think these will work better in bottles
I started to unscrew the disconnect from the end of the transfer tube from fermzilla that was under pressure to bottle a few of mine. Covered myself and the garage in beer until I managed to pull the disconnect off the fermzilla. Absolute epic failure 😂 will have to bottle a few from keg of it's any good.

Oh dear.
I was faced with Washing and sterilising 30 bottles and then capping them so I went into the range and bought 36 flip top ones and just rinsed and sterilised. Still a pain in the aserse

Didn't know the range had bottles. I'm intending to brew the last of my user upper beers on Sunday and all my kegs are full.

Yep they are £1 a bottle in boxes of 12. Brown grolsh type bottles.
Was nearly tempted to lift their MYO stout with galena hops and brew it to 10l not 23l as a quick stout but resisted the urge.

How come so many are turning out lighter than expected ?
I went too light with the roasted barley and chocolate malt. If I was to make again I would probably just cold steep. I wanted the roasted grains to give back ground flavour not to be dominate. I was looking for a more fruity stout with the main flavours coming from the special B and dark crystal/brown sugar

All the recipes I looked at had mash grains none were steep. I didn’t think mine too roasty from a sample from fermenter more liquorice and coffee with a bit of sweetness from the highish finish 1.016. I have aimed for fairly high carbonation as well so this will cut any harshness. Only worry is will it have long enough to condition.

That's my worry as well especially for mine as I used a lager yeast
