Why don't beer breweries also ferment cider?

There is an excellent Tap house near us, Tom's Tap

I have asked the head brewer this question, his answer is that it requires a separate licence, however, it is feasible to run both in the same kit.

Yes cross contamination is a risk but so is Brett and wild ferment

We meet at Tom's Tap every second Thursday of the month for anyone who is interested
