Was at The Criterion in Leicester last night and tried my first ever lambics. The first was Timmermans Tradition Blanche Lambicus, and was nice and refreshing. The second was absolutely beautiful. Cantillon Rosé de Gambrinus. A total 'sipper', but absolutely wonderful. I love the bitter taste of these and especially the Rosé.

On a side note, the barmaid @ Criterion opened the Rosé and said 'its a bit challenging', and after trying it, they wouldn't mind if I swapped it! Top quality pubbage is that.

A clone of Ridleys Rumpus using White labs Essex yeast which is supposed to originate from Ridleys. Several years since I drank this beer and has not come out as I remember, but has turned out my best this year. Might do a repeat this weekend.
