Yep mythos and alfa prevail along with Fix in bottles which was my favourite. Also lots of Amstel and Heineken which from my limited Greek (*none) I think are brewed in Greece under supervision and taste like Mythos anyway. Schweppes tonic also tastes weird and local wine is luke piss but very cheap. That said amazing holiday and given the above factors relatively abstemious so liver has had a rest. May hit the Metaxas tonight mind

If you look hard enough decent ale can be found in greece although rarely in the supermarket and never in bars. Theres a small but interesting micro brewery scene, I had a belter of a belgium style golden ale last year.
I do enjoy the Metaxas though and strangely a pint of mythos does seem to hit the spot after a days rock climbing.

Tried this tonight. It's had mixed reviews online and I know my buddies @Hoddy and @dan125 aren't keen but I don't mind it. Ok it's not the best tiny rebel or Polly beer I have had but for a beer that was canned 2 weeks ago and available in a 440ml can nationwide @ Tesco it isn't bad.

More of my accidental Helles. I have decided. This was brewed with a proper lager yeast, at proper lager temps (Mangrove Jack's Bavarian iirc) and it's no more lager like than when I use Crossmyloof Kolsch yeast, which is considerably cheaper. So that's a big thumbs up for CML Kolsch.

Had a few bottles tonight and thoroughly enjoyed them.

Local brewery on the other side of the state. Big hitters. 11.9% ABV and 11% ABV. The Underground Mountain is conditioned in barrels underground (thus the name) for a year. I believe it would do better with another year in the bottle. Not disappointed though. It has a big punch of Sumatra coffee, relatively bitter.
The Backwoods brew on the right is a more traditional barrel-aged stout that has some sweetness to it.
Having a couple while watching the Lions' preseason game--not bad so far. It's 9pm as of this post.

I may have misrepresented what I really meant, which is that punk was the Ramones, the Pistols and the truly excellent Clash. The rest was rather iffy, at best. Maybe the third Damned Album was OK.

Wild Bill IPA from Aldi - had it before, crap, had it today lovely and citrussy. Also some chinook thing in a can which was ok, though it's not given me some definitive chinook reference, which I why I got it. Some triple hopped lager that I drank on the drive home and it was ok. Avoid the 4 pack of the hopped lager there - it's so insipid you would not believe. And some grapefruit IPA in a can pitted against the Mangrove Jack's kit of that same thing. And some of the Brasserie lagers that are now almost completely tasteless now they're at 4%. I got in loads because there's a gathering tomorrow and they're not having any of my good sh*t. I've hidden all the homebrew.

SWMBO picked a couple of these up in ASDA along with a couple of others cans for £5 (£2:40 a can elsewhere) one was sour which i didn't like and one was raspberry flavoured which wasn't much better but this was good and i will be buying it again. (not at full price for a 330ml tin as i am a tight git)
