A Saison in the affligem & a bush 12% in the maredsous glass. (12% being in Stig's beer ball park ;) )
Both drunk YESTERDAY in the sun :tongue:
 
Picked up some of the new Tesco beers today. Never tried a Brut beer before and not sure about this. It's lovely and dry and fizzy with restrained bitterness to suit but it has a pronounced wine/grape character that I wish was a bit more hoppy.

Looks good though. Should be very dry, a local brewery made a great one with champagne yeast. It also wasn't very hoppy/
Its a rather trendy style though so may fizzle out?
 
Just been given two bottles of Westvleteren 12 so guessing those will be consumed soon!

Dark mild and it's very good, this is prob the best beer I have made so far it's still not quite ready, it has a nice amount of bittering and a very nice roasty flavour, the worst thing about this brew is I didn't save the recipe doh, lesson learned

It must be down to the champagne yeast I presume??

Me too Dan the cloudwater neipa is pretty good aswell you can tell brewdog are in there just doesent quite have that big Mouthfeel and hop bomb that cloudwater do so well. Presume it's just down to the price point though.
 
I dunno if eating Danish Blue cheese is correct while drinking a stout, but it is going down quite well after a good morning brewing a Toucan (Two Cooper Can) Stout. This Black Sheep Milk Stout is indeedy quite stouty, not very sweet though and certainly no hints of Chocolate or coffee. There is certainly a Black Sheepness about this beer which one could easily guess it to be so.

My tesco isn't due the CW/BD neipa until next weekend according to the labels on the shelves today - but agreed, there can only be so much you can do for £3 a can.
Tried the sour solstice today - way too sour for my liking ashock1

Agh! Ya big jessy, it's not that sour. I'd say it's more tart, than sour. Not getting much blood orange but tons of cranberry.

:laugh8: I keep persevering wih the sours but just can't aquire the taste - the solstice had a lovely aroma but taste like lemon juice
 
Just drank my first own recipe brew:

1kg Belgian pale malt
250g caramalt

Chinook hops 3g at 60 mins, 8.5g at 15 and flame out, 10g dry hop

Are all homebrews this good or did I just stumble onto a winning recipe?
