Early new years resolution for me. No drinking on a school night, so these taste so much better after a week at work. A cloudwater dipa ting, a chocolate orange impy from wander beyond and an abbeydale Baltic porter.

Cali Common. Only 4 weeks old and really nice.

Impressed with the cml Cali common yeast. Dropped crystal clear after two day’s conditioning.

This lovely bottle from Aldi, tastes pretty good too

A kolsh made with cascade and columbus which is almost 4 months old. All the nice hop brightness has gone and it tastes like *** ash. It's a fairly decent shandy.

HB Belgian Tripel/Trjple/Trippel. I'm not difficult to please and this one worked out okay. It dried out a bit too much from the MJ-41 (great and powerful yeast) so I'll have to be mindful next time. This beer was supposed to taste like a local Belgian that I love but ended up being far closer to a Westmalle. If I'm going to make a big mistake like I had, it's about the best one I could make. This beer would be more appealing if it were clearer but, personally, that would be too much extra work which doesn't affect the flavor. Funnily enough, it's a dead ringer for the NEIPAs (or cloudy IPAs or whatever they're called here) that are really, really popular right now--at least on the US sister site. Edit: I forgot to say this is the 13.6% ABV. I was shooting for 11% ABV.

First time trying NEIPA. This is from a brewery just across the Border in Co. Donegal. I was expecting more flavour but this still has a nice kick to it.

They do some nice beers. Rustbucket being my favourite
I went into the Offie looking for that tonight but they had none so went with this instead. Loved their Scraggy Bay.

I just had a Hobgoblin Gold. It is one of the most vile beers I've ever had. It's like carbonated golden syrup. It is an awful, lingering, pestilent, sickly mawkish bottled horror. It's like my mouth was ***** by toffee apples but the apples shied away because they didn't want to provide some acidic balance. It's absolutely diabolically awful. I've just been through a few of my homebrews that I thought weren't that great but they're like leviathans compared to this diabetic filth.

I didn't like it.
