The temperature in the garage has stabilised at 18 to 20 degrees so I decided to take the latest brew (a Fulstow's AG Recession Session) out of the fridge after only three days and let it ferment out on the work top. (This was to free up the fridge so that I could use it for a week to chill and marinade 5 kilos of silverside beef into what will become corned-beef; aka "salt-beef".)

I was thinking about the "Patience" Thread so I decided to try one of the five remaining bottles of Own Recipe Mild Ale that I bottled on the 1st February ... :) :)

... and it was a deliciously smooth and mellow pint with just a hint of chocolate! Well worth the wait! :thumb: :thumb:

Accidently put a mini keg of Caladonian Porter (from GW's book) in the fridge yesterday instead of the last keg of Vienna Hybrid. So I opened it as I dont have anything else to.drink.
It's only had one week conditioning and it's still nice. Should be lovely when all the flavours have rounded out in another 3 weeks time

As a newbie to Brewing and patiently waiting for my first brew tonight will be a shepards neame Indian pale ale. Last night was a purity Ubu, very nice indeed,:thumb:

Quite like the Ubu myself. Tonight I'll be watching the rugby with pedigree, London pride, Dublin porter and a west indian porter to keep me company...the last two are the Guinness efforts I've never tried before so thought id give them a whirl

A rye IPA I made from an extract recipe before I discovered that you can't steep rye. Surprisingly it's still pretty nice. Also a Northern Monk New World IPA (a real hop bomb), an Adnams Southwold Winter IPA (lovely and very English IPA - nothing new world about this) and a Nøgne Ø pale ale (£1.20 from M&S, nearly a fiver a bottle everywhere else!). Then a full day of brewing tomorrow. Happy days!

Back in the U.K. And passed a lidl on the way home. They had some green gecko (can't get it my local one) so drinking one now and it's pleasantly nice for a £1.25 beer

Hertog Jan barley wine... Man this stuff is awesome!!

I'll be drinking my cherry wheat as I've run out of all the good stuff and my bonfire toffee stout is to strong for a summer drink

Not so much tonight but I've been at the great Yorkshire show the last three days and have been drinking black sheep brewery riggwelter which is lovely. I've also tried a few of their "craft" creations, pathfinder (ipa), glug mcglug (dark ipa) and a russian imperial stout. Had a theakstons barista stout too which was seriously good.

Having some Talisker tonight. A bit cold for beer.

I sampled on the of the Coopers Hopped Lagers today. Bottled only two weeks ago it's very "sharp" to the palate and needs a lot more conditioning.

I then moved on to a Woorfordes Wherry Bitter (bottled 17 days ago and it's getting to be very "moorish") before finishing up with a pint of Wilco's Hoppy Copper Bitter which is just about finished after being in the KK for just under four weeks.

All-in-all a happy evening! :thumb:

my own beer, thank god.

better than almost all the stuff the czechs serve. so glad to be back home :-)

although Prague has to be a contender for prettiest capital city in the world.
