Drinking Festival Old Suffolk, a bit young yet but needed tasted.
Fyne Ales Maverick in a mini keg next and recycle the keg

Is hobgoblin any good. See it everywhere but don't think I have ever tried it

I didn't really enjoy it, Mrs Tea said it was OK and my Lad loves it, maybe i should haver tried a blond type as i have always been a lager drinker.

Tonight I have a selection (purely for research purposes of course).

In no particular order,

King Goblin - 6.6%
Revisionist Rye Pale Ale - 4.3%
Chimay Blue - 9%
St. Stefanus Blonde - 7%
Brewdog Punk IPA - 5.6%
Tesco Finest American IPA (brewed by brewdog) 9.2%

See you in the morning!!

Chimay Blue - big beer in a little bottle. Lovely taste, dark and enticing.

Tesco Finest American IPA - wow!! I think I've just been hit by a hop truck that has driven through a hop field and might be powered by hop oil. Absolutely fantastic beer.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, the double IPA made by brewdog...it's epic!

My honestbrew tester came in the post today...so I'll be testing the following:

St. Stefanus Blonde. The Belgians have got it nailed. The cloves taste from the yeast, and the high carbonation with it, just absolutely rocks. This might be one to use as a 'yeast stealer'.

King Goblin. Actually, a pleasant surprise. Very smooth, the Sovereign comes through nicely, and it is deceptively innocent for one so strong. I wouldn't mind having a pop at a clone of this one, which is a first for the Hobgoblins for me....

Not sure I will be able to review all of my selection tonight.....!!

Or maybe I will. Revisionist, bit of a disappointment really, considering the dry hopping it gets. Then again, it could be because I have befuggled my taste buds....

Nowhere near the taste of Revisionist IPA, or their Saison. The rye gives it depth and body, but not much else. One to go, and this one ain't getting a medallion so far....
