Last night's beers catchup.
Lively šŸ˜œ Westerham Spirit of Kent.
Well, it is 3 months OOD!
Still lovely and fresh beer.
Firstly mine and son's.
Then SWMBO'Ds The Real Bud.
Then my follow - ons.
An unexpectedly tough end to the day, as my Hopcat pump blocked brewing a Pale ale using this year's harvest Prima Donna.
Fermenting away well now, thank goodness.

And then tonight's

Preprandial of the Westerham Spirit of Kent, then on to a recently bought Italian red Puglia Appassimento from Wine Superstore in Calais.
Brilliant residual sweetness matches SWMBO'Ds casserole of pork with plums and peppers.
Unlike last Saturday's wine, got the choice right this time.
Phew, thought I'd lost it!

Cask bitter. The cask is only half full now but I do have another batch that will come out of the fermenter and go into cask on Thursday. Just as well because this morning our eldest daughter has arranged with us for all her beer friends to come round on December 27th. We do enjoy having them round though, nice people.

In kitchen peeling taters and carrots, so trying a bottle of this year's Fuller's Vintage.

Boozy fruitcake, some slightly metallic golden syrup. Finishes quite spicy and warming. Very good.

Perhaps the metallic Golden syrup twang would mature out if left a year or two or even more before opening?
I know - not much chance of that happening! šŸ˜œšŸ»

I opened a bottle a year or two ago that was from the '80's (same beer but relabled as an Anniversary ale for a tied house management couple).
Absolutely fine, with no metallic twang detectable. šŸŗšŸ‘
