Scottish Export Ale (pimped kit) from the keg, I think the first pint a few days ago must have been a dud, it's really rather nice now.

Still not cold, but cool enough, had a few issues with pressure initially (I'm still very new to kegging) but now it's pouring fine.

The first pint will have a lot of the settled sediment so the flavour will not be as clean.

As I don’t have a dedicated keg fridge in the summer I normally transfer a couple of litres of beer from my 19L Corny into a 2L corny keg using a transfer cable and pop it in the fridge, however this was empty for my second glass so I decided to have the same again this time at ambient temperature (about 13°C) straight from the keg. It’s like drinking too different beers, it’s much softer in flavour with far less bitterness and more fruitiness. Both are nice but this beer clearly works well at higher temperatures.

I'd only had one pint out of the keg so far, it was very good but had a bit of a twang, after @Hazelwood Brewery mentioned about the first draw having a bit of sediment earlier, I thought I'd try it again.

Super crisp and clear now, really nice floral notes coming through, shimmering golden goodness, why on earth have I never kegged mead before?!

I avoid drinking anything too cold, cold mutes the flavour and retains the CO2, probably why you find the beer softer, lack of carbonation bite so you are not tasting the acid.
 
Always the same, the last 3 stubbys of Baltic Porter and it is fantastic. Just over two years old, slightly sticky on the lips slightly sweet and lost some of the carbonation just have all the flavours one would look for dark fruit and just starting to oxidise giving off the sherry like flavour. Pity we can't pass on taste with pictures.

I’ve never actually tried Rosé before, but on a whim decided to give it a go. In my case a bottle of Château de la Deidière Rosé, Côtes de Provence 2023, described by the wine shop I purchased it from as fresh and fruit forward this at least to me seems rather nice it’s very dry, refreshing with a pleasant after taste. Very much a summer wine but I can genuinely see the appeal of Rosé.

Love that album, still have it on vinyl, nothing to play it on mind you. One of the best concerts I saw at Sheffield City Hall back in the day. Mentioned on the radio as I drove home from work on Tuesday Phil Lynott would have been 75.
 
End of a stressful week, hard rubbish, and booking a train fare from Gatwick to Loughborough then another from Loughborough to Heathrow. Can't believe the prices you guys pay for the train, for £4.50 I can go twice as far here.
Anyway Jamils Bitter tonight, not as good as Poe's Boston Bitter but not too bad.
