Just got back from a Proms in the Park in Wrexham.
Absolutely fantastic orchestra playing Star Wars,Indy,ET.. all sorts! Bar,obviously, which was run by a chap I know....

When in the Czech Republic I visited Vyšehrad Cemetery in Saint Peter and Paul Basilica. It is a hell of a climb but climbing up there I could hear Dvořák Largo from New World Symphony playing. He is buried there and it was his posthumous birthday.
Made famous by some colliery band and the Hovis ad.

This is lovely. I wouldn't ever see a great selection of English beers unless I go north of the border (the Asda had no Proper Black left unfortunately) so I'm glad I got a few of these. Had a Greene King IPA too which smelled very ropey, presumably due to the clear bottle, but tasted very nice.

This is lovely. I wouldn't ever see a great selection of English beers unless I go north of the border (the Asda had no Proper Black left unfortunately) so I'm glad I got a few of these. Had a Greene King IPA too which smelled very ropey, presumably due to the clear bottle, but tasted very nice.

I got a good hoppy flavour off this one. What was the change? I don't know the brewery but were they one of the ones bought out or something?

It was 5.3% and really hoppy, brewed by Wychwood based in Whitney Oxfordshire, yeah they were bought out and they ruined the beer, the only one i buy now is King Goblin

Greene King IPA I find is pretty nice on cask if the pub keeps it well, but I won’t touch it out of a bottle or can.

Hobgoblin was one of the first beers I had at 16 to make me realise that yes actually I do like beer and there is a hell of a lot more to it than larger. Sadly as you say they have gone down hill after being brought out by Marston and pretty certain they have now closed the Whitney brewery.

As for me a Tropical England IPA I made the mistake of moving the keg so it has a bit of sediment in the glass but still tastes good.
