Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it. Your review fits very closely with my own thoughts.
There’s around 6% crystal malt in this brew, I might pull it be a touch for the next one. I went with the 6% because that’s what was in last years LAB entry that got an honourable mention.
Better man for it.4 weeks
Same here. I’ll usually go with 2 in equal proportions, Caramunich I and the Dinghams equivalent of Cara Red on this one.I think that will work well. Did you use one type of Crystal? For extra complexity I find layering 2/3 different types of Crystal works well in many maltier styles.
I do love those glasses, but they won't fit in our dishwasher or shelves, and we've only just got a new kitchenIt’s Alt-o’clock, and a big thanks to @dave_77 for sending this to me.
Brilliantly clear in the glass and pours with a generous head. Really powerful malty aroma, with dark caramel and chocolate notes both prominent. Bread crust or light toasty malt flavours are balanced perfectly with the roast and darker crystal notes I’d smelled before tasting. The finish is dry with a great mouthfeel and length of flavour.
I’d high hopes for this one and it definitely delivered. It’s an excellent beer, thank you.

My wife won’t put any glasses I use for beer in the dishwasher. They get left out for me to deal with, which is perfect.I do love those glasses, but they won't fit in our dishwasher or shelves, and we've only just got a new kitchen
I love LSA. We had their oversized champagne coupe and a couple of other things as centrepiece holders for our wedding. My wife won’t put any glasses I use for beer in the dishwasher. They get left out for me to deal with, which is perfect.
We have a lot of LSA glassware, it makes a great drink even better when it’s poured into something that’s reassuringly heavy.
We are up in the hills, overlooking Sierra Mijas, about 30 mins inland... We go home Thursday morning, but staying in Malaga on Wednesday night so could catch up with you in Fuen.... I'll pm my number. Be good to meet up!!What part of Spain you in ?
We for fuengirola on wed and I see there is a few good craft beer bars opened since I was last there including a Belgian one
Starting the night with a guest Belgian pale from @Benfleet Brewery .
This one is somewhere near a traditional Belgian pale but has a slightly higher yeast and hop character.
Low-medium carb, decent head on pouring. Slight Banana and spice aroma.
Easy drinking , smooth , medium bitterness. Clean no astringency or off flavours
More yeast forward with some nice spice flavours from the hops.. mildly fruity/spicy with a touch of banana. Nice pale

Gorgeous Sun through beer photo btw.Got an English ipa out of the tap without the aid of the empty gas bottle. And it’s tasting good. Malty with a touch of fuggels earthiness. View attachment 86347
