After helping a neighbour with tree and hedge trimming it’s time to relax. I’m warming up with a small glass of bitter.
Cheers!

Also after a day working - on clearing my deceased father's garage/woodworkshop. It will take some time more.
And perhaps after a little snooze in the afternoon sun, well their garden is South facing.
A delightful SMASH of Irish Ale malt and Mosaic hops from The Garden Brewery. Bitter and fruity after an aromatic pour. Amazingly for my Beer 52 stash, it's a whole month before its BBE date!
Just right for tonight.

Well my King Keg, Extra Stout has been in the keg for 26 days now and has conditioned nicely. Beautiful smooth drink and the head is made up of ultra fine bubbles. The bag in a keg is becoming a huge hit with the wineries in the 10 and 20 litre version. Oxygen free so better keeping than a bottle.

My last Irish Red, brewing again Saturday so will more than likely repeat this one with a couple of tweaks.

Thornbridge and Budějovický Budvar Czech Mates.

Is made from British malt (Maris Otter) and hops (Goldings), and the Budvar yeast.

Quite delicious and went down very easily.

Great to see another brewery using local malt and hops to make great-tasting lagers (Utopian are committed to this, so would also recommend them).

Even better to see you can make a lager with Maris Otter as the Warminster Czech Lager malt that Utopian use is quite pricy.

Dead easy to get to: we're taking the car but there are also inexpensive flights from several UK airports :-)
Yes I fancy a little weekend trip with a little detour to cologne for some fresh Kolsch. I have been to Cologne before but it was when the Euros were on and I wasn't into beer as much then so would like to go back. I think Dusseldorf is only 30-40 mins on the train
