Had friends round this evening, and a huge Indian take-away, so I’ve been a bit quiet but I had a few more milds and just finishing off the last of the two big boys shown earlier. They were both very nice, the porter taking the prize I think.

Time to chill with the last half pint and then bed before a busy family day tomorrow. Night all! :hat:

Proof that you have to lager properly at the time
I don't do lagers but a month or two in the basement for my golden-colored ales makes it so you can easily read a driver's license through the beer glass. That's observable and been my experience.
Like I said, I don't do lagers so I might not get exactly what you're referring to.
I never do finings because it seems unnecessary (to each his own).

Tonight my best bitter, Welsh Archers Bitter. A fair bit stronger than my ordinary bitter, left it a little while longer to condition in the bottle. Getting there nicely, nice tight head, lasts to the end, lacing not bad, and good flavour to boot. Second time I have brewed this there will definitely be a third. One hop, Fuggles at 90 mins.

What's he brewing today

He's doing what he calls his low carb experiment (he's T2D). Just pale ale and golden promise malts. He's bittering with magnum, and adding citra and centennial later on. He's done a high fermentability mash and it's just halfway through the boil now. :D
