cold crashing at the moment.

Just trying a very special Beer from @Broken Toe. This is my first time trying an Eisbock, not sure on the abv it could be anywhere above 12%

Bottle filled right to the rim to protect from oxygen. Pours with good carbonation, lovely colour I was expecting it to be darker. Excellent clarity
Nice sweet malt aroma, very clean. Flavour is much the same, sweet with a full body. No harsh alcohol burn, really smooth. Really enjoyable

Thank you for sending this, I did a bit of research so I fully appreciate the effort required to make this style of beer.

Cheers

Away from my own brew, so stopped off at Sainsburys and bought this 3.20, for research. 7.2%. Each to their own, not for me.
Yesterday I had a pint of Muntons imperial stout, I tasted a bottle at 4 weeks, no taste and not carbonated, then again at 8 weeks. And then last night after 11 weeks, I was told to leave it for 12 weeks but couldn't resist, it was nicely carbonated but didn't hold a head for long but tasted great. A really good pint, perfect with a whiskey.

My son has been visiting from London, and my stocks have taken a bit of a hammering! :D

All good, though, and he especially liked the Flakey bitter and parsnip stout.

Now watching the snooker with one of the last Grey Sheep.

First off a taste of my Golden Bitter, 6 days in the bottle, coming along quite nicely, only Styrian Goldings hops. Initial thought to use Super Pride or Target as my bittering and S.Goldings as flavour hops. Almost a smash but added some dextrin malt at mash out. Second my Red Ale seems a little more red now it has cleared somewhat. This was conditioned in the keg, looks good, taste's good, but on the nose for aroma. Brewed on a hot day cooled with recirculating from a 6000 litre tank but didn't get below 30 C. Must have pitched the CN-36 at around mid 20's. Lesson learned from this put in the fermenting room to get the temp down, pitch following day. Have been doing this with all my beers since with no adverse reaction.

@samale triple.

I am holding this delicious beer to account for a less than ideal brew day. Overhit mash temp significantly and then bumped into the tap and let out a large amount of wort onto the floor.

It was tremendous, took me right back to Bruges on the first sip, high carb brought a bit too much yeast up but that was so low down on the list. It was perfectly balanced and drank so beautifully it was gone in minutes!

So we’re really good friends with the eldest son’s in-laws.

I received a surprise package last week of a couple of bottles of this strawberry gin from them - it’s so good! Only just got round to opening it as we’d a few beers to use up.

I have a double shot of it, so it’s a very small sipper at a time as it’s strong. I just think lemonade will ruin it if I water it down!

I think that’s a lovely thought, bless them! It made my day when that arrived!

It’s a tincture so nothing illegal, taxes fully paid!
