Now a Summer Breeze while making some minted lamb burgers for my wife.

I’m starting tonight with a guest beer, a 5.4% Rosemary & Simcoe IPA from @Leon103.

The beer is a nice golden colour with a little haze and a good white head which collapsed after a short while to a ring around the glass and then persisted to the end. Medium carbonation is perfect. There was a little sediment in the bottle and I left that behind.

The aroma is a little un-nerving because it’s the rosemary that stands out but the flavour of the rosemary is far more restrained. It is still quite evident however, it adds an interesting savoury note and there is a slightly perfumed finish to the beer. The balance though is good and I think the “seasoning” is well judged. I’d put this in the same category as my own spruce beer - interesting and actually quite nice in small measure but I’d maybe not brew a whole keg!

Thanks Leon for sharing, for some reason I fancy roast chicken tonight 😉

I’m having a DIPA from No Frills Joe to ease the mind-numbingly boring job of painting. It’s the one job I really don’t like about decorating and that’s a bit of a bugger because there’s so much painting involved!

I feel your pain! I'm out of the frying pan into the fire....extension,kitchen,hall..floor,log burner and painting all done....the living room is next on the list!
I'm off for 12..so it's a couple of days doing some tidying up,weekend we're off to York for the Christmas ding-dong...then painting it shall be...
Happy wife,happy life.
Bad back..

And I wanted to try the imperial stout, got my scores back and this one didn't score well 27... Feedback was one dimensional malt and some phenolic off flavours. Recommended to add some different malts, it has 6. It's still young, but I think the bitter gold hops might be too spicy and harsh for bittering.
