First try of my Baltic Porter, just about 2 weeks in the bottle. Very pleased with this one even though the lagering wasn't as long as my last one. Just have to put it away to mature, the shed at the top of the back paddock is the safest place. Followed by a Sparkling ale and that is me for the night.
Going to a friend's house for the day but unfortunately I need to drive, so it's soft drinks and some cans of Guinness 0.0 for me. Fortunately Guinness 0.0 is not too bad!
A pale ale is called for in this heat. Despite quite a lot of cloud cover it’s still 28C . This is the pale ale where I stuffed hops in the keg, it’s started to develop a tangerine zest flavour that I’ve not had from regular dry hopping of this beer. Interesting.
In the pub waiting for a Chinese takeaway (it's next door). Of the two pubs in the village, this isn't the one I call my local, but they do keep their cask in good order. Very good in fact.
Unfortunately, despite being a free house, they seem tied into Greene King for all their ales, so it's mainly GK / Moreland stuff.
So I opted for Old Speckled Hen. It's much better on cask the in the bottle.
Off to the local later for a night on the Bateman's
Swiftly followed by another from the same brewery, Driftwood spars 'Lou's brew' is a pale with first gold, progress and cascade, and its good. The Mrs is having one of my texan ipa's.
