Happy Christmas everyone. 🎅🍻
Well, that's the BBE date on this Helles from Buro Brauerei. 25.12.21.
I'm going to be playing catch up for some time, methinks, with these old Beer52 bottles I cleared out, and put in date order from in the garage.
It says, "a thirst quenching lager" on the back label, and it does just that. Could be the 11+1/2 mile ride I've just got back from, with the return half in a hoolieing SW headwind. 🚵
Going out was good going though.

First beer of the night is a Marzen kindly sent by @Alastair70 . Not sure I have had one of these before so I had to read up on the guidelines.
Comes across pretty much exactly as the opening description of the style.
Copper redish colour, almost crystal clear with a nice head that stuck around.
Bready malty aroma, not really picking up hops. Mouthfeel is soft with medium Carbonation and low to medium bitterness. Tastes bready with a very slight toasty flavour in a good way. With herbal floral flavour from the hops. It's pretty much all about the malt. Drinks soft and easy for the 6.2%, with some body but still easy drinking. It's not dry but not sweet just soft and malty. Clean Fermentation..very nice beer👌🏼thanks for sending.
Thanks for that @dave_77, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I thought I’d sent you the judging notes from LAB but it appears not, I’ll do that when I get to my computer. I’ll be brewing this one again with a few tweaks based on the feedback.

Happy Friday everyone! My first beer tonight is an absolute gem from @Donegal john an American Pale Ale with Simcoe and Summit and BRY-97.
Its a classic example of style; great clarity and carbonation, citrus hops predominant the aroma but are balanced with some tropical hop flavour and stone fruit esters on the palate. The finish is dry and refreshing, it was gone in 10 minutes. That’s another very well thought out and executed pale ale John, thank you for sharing it.

Next oldie up is a Polish Pilsner,
BBE a month earlier than the last, Nov. '21.
Apparently the name means, "First Aid Beer" and they recommend it for everyday use.
Can't disagree there. 🍺
Strangely it's a whole 1% lower at 4.1 than the Helles at 5.2, but still tastes more full bodied, richer and maltier.
Go figure.

I love goat meat, but its a barsteward to cook well. Would definitely suit the bottle on the right.

This had been proper slow cooked, was ok but not a favourite. Paired it with a glass of local red wine actually, but on second thoughts I agree that the ale would have been a better choice.

On to the big boy next. DIPA from @Alastair70 . It's a clone of pliny the elder

This is so smooth for a DIPA, fruity and pine on the nose, real slick mouth feel that hides the abv well. No harshness, great flavour. It warms the cheeks

This is a really well made beer, 330ml is spot on for me. The clarity is excellent 👏
Hats of on this one

Cheers @samale. Glad you liked it, if you saw the recipe you'd run a mile.
