Nice beer, had it a couple of timesThis is a new one on me, I had no idea any Trappist Ale is brewed in England. Found it in a beer shop on Whitby this morning. A little lively on opening ( lost a little) View attachment 68952but a lovely flavour with a hint of figs.
To be honest it's made me rethink what I want out of a saison. He’s a nice guy. Never met him but seen him on video and I share some of his views about saison.
Good to know, I have a bottle in the cupboard still. It was a Christmas present. This is a new one on me, I had no idea any Trappist Ale is brewed in England. Found it in a beer shop on Whitby this morning. A little lively on opening ( lost a little) but a lovely flavour with a hint of figs.

I may have mentioned it before but Buxton and the surrounding area have a special place in my heart. I spent my youth in and around Buxton, I must have walked hundreds of miles around the area. I even still have a child’s fantasy book set in the area called The Moon of Gomrath - here it is…

Inside, a map of the area and landmarks in the story, all real and soooo familiar. Can you feel my love?

I’m the wrong person to ask, I love it on principle! What's the beer like? I have a can in the fridge
Thank you Tess. I’m with Jim, it’s the Märzen by a whisker for me, although I was really happy with both beers. I’ll be brewing them again with a few tweaks based on the judges feedback from the LAB Open.Having another one from @Alastair70. This one is an Irish Red Ale.
Although this is not a style I would choose for myself, I am enjoying it. The husband prefers this one to the Märzen, and I’m the opposite.
The style is far superior to the bog standard English bitter in my opinion, and as all Alastair’s beers are, it is full of flavour and extremely well-made.
It oozes glass-appeal with the stunning red colour, and from what I can gather is bang on the style.
Thank you muchly for both beers you sent Mr 70!

I have one in the fridge as well, I will report back shortly. I called into Sainsbury's looking for the coconut stout @Hazelwood Brewery was recommending. Unfortunately I couldn't find it. I didn't leave empty handedWhat's the beer like? I have a can in the fridge
