We thought we’d QC the Kolsch. It’s only about 4 weeks old so not ready yet or carbonated. It’s taking ages to clear despite the finings, but as I understand it, the K97 yeast is slow to flocculate. Its like a cross between pears and farts 😂. On the bright side it’s a beautiful colour. I’ll try it again in a couple of weeks.

The days are getting shorter, the last smells of barbecues in the evening, the scent of roach in the air in the morning. Days are still warm but there is an atmosphere of change in the air.
Last but one long neck of my Golden Bitter, was going to brew another but may wait until spring. Get stuck into the darker beers as the specialities over the coming winter months without foregoing the bitters of course.
The second and final drink of the night a long neck of my IPA (English of course).
