My Oatmeal Porter. Really enjoying this. Good balance between drinkability, malt and hops. Decent complexity too (good thing given the ridiculous grain bill - it was based on a DEYA Hokum Stomp recipe).

The first bottle was a bit flat (swing top not perfectly on) so I had to open a second from the cellar to check it was a one off. Every cloud and all that.

Back home now after 4 wonderful days in Somerset, just pulled this from the user upper keg been in there about 12 days, it has a nice English hoppy taste not to malty and a really nice bitter finish I am happy with this

Very nice! A better selection than you’ll see in most places. I’m drawn to the Rev James but would probably want to work my way through the lot - then make a choice on which to stay on

It’s been a pretty difficult week, so tonight it’s not homebrew - it’s from the treat cupboard- A classic Negroni made with ‘Chemist’ US gin .. it’s that perfect bitter- smooth-sweetness ☺

I’m starting with something different tonight and it’s the last bottle I brought back with me from Norfolk. 750ml, 8.5%, Ripper. It tastes quite nice but is difficult to place - it tastes strong, there are Belgian esters, it’s oxidised (in a good way), it’s fairly bitter, and it has a kind of Centennial vibe to it.
