Starting with an English Bitter today. I might have to get another batch of this on soon!

Muntons Winter Warmer.

Been in the bottle for six weeks and is just starting to come in.

OG 1050 which struggled to get below 1018 for weeks, but has settled down to approx 1010.

Still a bit sweet 🧐

Golden Delicious truly is.
One of my favourites in the Summer (normal one!).
Followed up with a Burton Bridge Best Bitter from the Polypin box, back at the Curborough Sprint track campsite. We would carry-out one of each after a 'good lunch' on the Friday with a designated driver. All hail SHMBO'd.
A long blissful weekend.
Do you have a recipe for Golden Delicious?
I would be very interested in giving it a go.
Thanks,
Robin.
If you're after a recipe, see here on my brewday thread. I don't know how faithful it is to the original as it's based on the somewhat suspect Camra rip-off of Graham Wheeler's recipe in Brew Your Own British Real Ale.

The recipe calls for Pale malt and white sugar, with Challenger for bittering and Styrian Goldings at 10 minutes.

So far it certainly has the desired "mouth-watering bitter finish" which I attribute to the Challenger. It is a little fruity and slightly apple-y. I used MJ M36 for its fruitiness and fermented at 19°C, but suspect that as it was exposed to cold temperatures overnight my little heater may not have maintained temperature well enough. I expected a little more fruit from the yeast. The golden syrup along with a mash temp of 65 had certainly thinned out the beer as intended making it an easy drinker, though maybe a little on the thin side. I'd mash at 67 next time if using syrup as I prefer a little more body, or may just drop the syrup and increase malt. It came out bang on 3.7% as per the Wheeler recipe.

12 days annual leave starts now.

Making a start on the sabro brown porter whilst lifting the old patio ready for the new drinking terrace to be constructed

First taste of my latest Porter. Flavours good but its flatter than a steamrollered pancake on a surfboard. Its had 2 weeks carbing and I batch primed so either I undershot on the sugar or might have a few feisty bottles and a few flat 'uns.

Hopefully get a brew on tomorrow as per usual I’m running on what I have on tap just and nothing in reserve. No idea what I will brew though. Thinking traditional English ipa as I have a load of fuggles and bramling cross 🤔
