Best ever present from a patient. Going with the pale ale from Boundary first, a local cooperative who make really exciting beers. Theyre definitely underselling it on the label, it’s an absolutely fantastic NEIPA. You get a massive hit of tropical fruit on the nose as the glass approaches your lips, full creamy mouthfeel and a long aftertaste of fruity hops. It’s a real gem.

Of foam and fury is a fantastic beer.
Haven’t had the boundary one but had lots of their other ones and that are all fantastic

If you see ‘Normal for You’ grab some. I haven’t had a NEIPA for a while and I’m definitely going to go on the hunt after this one.
Just back from a busy 2 days in Dublin and not working tomorrow so I’m thinking I should make the most of it tonight. The DIPS can wait, I’m going to get a load on with with a few lower ABV brews!

My Cali Common. I loved the first bottle then it paled on me a bit as it had a strong cola flavour to it. A few weeks on and that has mellowed a bit and I'm much happier. Not a show stopping beer but more than acceptable and all the better for being homebrewed.

Just like them to sell a full on nepia and label it a “pale ale” must check it out
Enjoy

It’s still September, but couldnt contain myself anymore.

(bl)Oktoberfest, a Marzen style Oktoberfest lager brewed in May and conditioned in keg for almost 4 months. Perfect follow on to the NEIPAs; it’s got a big creamy mouthfeel, malt forward, and a super clean finish. I’m going to say this is the best beer I’ve brewed so far. Hope the bottles are as good, one off them is destined for next months comp and a much more critical appraisal.

Love these beers and that looks 👌

I thought I would have a quick half of my barley wine while very nice given how much the mini keg fomed when I opened it I suspect it wasn’t quite done fermenting when I kegged it last year (It doesn’t taste like it has being infected) but that combined with how it has hit me makes me suspect it may be a tad stronger than 7.6%. Still a good beer though one to be handled with care.

Bollocks to low ABV. Next up is a Dopplebock. Burnt caramel malts without any cloying residual sweetness and a depth of flavour that just keeps going deeper and deeper for minutes after each sip. I absolutely love this beer, but it’s my last one. Need to get another order in ASAP

Edit: I’m halfway down it now and thinking about how I could brew one. There’s so much toast I‘d have to say a proper decoction mash is unavoidable

Another visit to the pub after a night ride. It's becoming an habit. I am not sure if the frantic speed was because it was getting dark or people wanted a pint.

I settled for a Hereford pale ale and a Welsh pale ale. Both nice enough, but very similar.

Off to my fave local this afternoon, The Wilkes Head at Eastergate....

All this time SWMBO was supping on a half of Day Tripper!
They do a nice Flower Pots at my "local", The Roll Call in Netley. I say "local" 'cos I can walk there and back, even though I haven't been in a pub for what feels like donkeys years.
