The English Bitter I kegged yesterday. It might improve a little over the next week but it’s ready to drink right out of the fermenter. Makes me happy. 😋

Seeing as it's Thursday and I have a couple of John Guest fittings to tweak my gas line routing, it would be wrong not to ;)

TT Landlord tribute. A little acidic but reasonable flavour and colour. Unfortunately, not as good as the real thing though still an enjoyable pint. Landlord is a tricky beer to recreate.

Listened to the latest Brülosophy podcast on the way up the road from Dublin, really put me in the mood for an Irish Red Ale. This is a pretty good example. I’ve added Irish Red to the Need To Brew Queue.

In more exciting news, my Summer Breeze V2 has hit FG and weighs in at a respectable 5.25%ABV. Dry hops going in tomorrow, package Monday, burst carb and it will be drinking by end of next week:onechug:

You’re right on the money. I hope you like it, I do! 😋

First proper pint of my session IPA, it’s been in keg for 10days now. Very happy with the outcome. Cleared nicely, dry as a bone and nice bright flavour. Bready malts, good body and mouthfeel despite lower ABV. Getting more simcoe on the hop front, I’ll be doubling the Amarillo in the dry hop next time. I suspect this keg will get ripped through in no time.

Just came across this while looking at Irish Red recipes Link
Reading between the lines it’s close to what I was planning grain wise. I had been thinking either fuggles or goldings, bittering to around 20IBU with a second 15 minute addition for flavour and using Verdant for the esters it would bring. Now I’m conflicted. if anyone has brewed the GEB kit I’d love to hear what they thought.

My first try of my lemondrop Saison. Only been in the bottle a couple of weeks , carbonation is getting there and I think a bit of fridge time and it will crisp up nicely. This batch has been mainly had Orval dregs added but kept 6 bottles as non Brett.

Looks really good. Great colour to complement the lemon flavour.
