First day off work in months so went for a walk and found a pub! A pint of Proper Job, my first cask beer since........goodness knows when. Nobody within 5 metres of me in the beer garden, ordered on the Youngs app and brought straight to me. Some of these post Covid changes I can live with!

A bottle of Old Jock Scotch Ale to start the evening wind down

Its easily the best box I have received. I cancelled my last subscription, as it contained to many below average beers. Well impressed with this box 😊
Agreed, I only rejoined last month cos they gave me a free box. I was going to cancel again but I saw it was a Dutch box up next so thought I'd stick with it, glad I did.

I love Old Jock first tried it at my daughters in Glasgow and I’ve made a clone version twice for my son in law.
Cool. Please share the recipe! I've read on the bottle Pale, roasted barley, Fuggles. First Gold and Perle

I’m genuinely excited to see how it holds out as the weather gives it a good test. This morning the ambient temperature was 17 and the beer temperature 14. A short while ago the ambient temperature was 20.6 and the beer still 14.
That's pretty good going athumb.. will be interesting to hear how it does

A pint of my bottled sweet stout next. It’s not as nice from a bottle and I’m not sure what I can do about that. It is still nice but not a patch on the kegged version, maybe that’s just the way it is?

It could maybe have done with a little more carbonation but it isn’t flat and to be honest I’m not particularly a fan of highly carbonated beer.

The flavour certainly doesn’t give you any sense of it’s 6% strength, the slightly swimmy head on the other hand... ;)

Continuing my search for a great local beer and tonight I have this rye pale ale. And I have to say this is really good actually. Nice fruity hops and a lovely rich malt flavour with creamy, full mouthfeel. Pleasantly surprised because the last Yardsman beer I had was pretty terrible.
