Just started the first pint from my corny of Old Peculiar (GW clone). The carbonation's not quite there yet, but its drinking nicely, should be cracking in a few days time.
 
Just opened my raspberry lager keg.
Not completely cleared, but I did haul it up the garden earlier today 🤔
A nice quaff 🍺

My dad gave me one of these earlier. I swear it used to have a different name though. Blandford Fly maybe?

Really nice beer for sipping on a cold Sunday night.
 
Last night and tonight i have tried my coopers bitter.
There are many threads i could post in as i barreled some and bottled the rest.

@terrym will probably be pleased to know i am enjoying said bitter.
Terry will probably be interested to know that I trialed my co2 injection on the barrel and only got one pint with a head,

The gas just poured in as i screwed the bulb in and the injector is obviously faulty.
The inside plastic nut has also snapped so needs looking at although i have another to try.
I sacrificed a co2 bulb to see what was what but tbh i quite like the bitter even though it's flat 😉 .

Yes it escaped quickly but I'll look at it in detail when I get chance because the barrel is handy for bitter.
 
Well, it was last night, but I did take a photo of it, because it was somewhat startling (milky, including the head), but quite drinkable. Half-and-half home brew and "commercial" cider, probably about 7% ABV.

Don't let Brewdog see that! They'll have it on sale as Cow's Nest Best or something!!

I posted the grain bill somewhere. I will find it, it's in a thread about stout recipes.... I assume this can go woth any stout grain bill of your liking though. The hops were just challenger and EKG per GHs milk stout recipe. Plus 150g of lactose

The important parts though....


75g coffee beans in vodka, in after 6 days. 5 crushed up tonka beans soaked in vodka and lobbed in after 7 days. Cocoa tincture made form 150g of nibs, poured in on bottling day.

Fermented with beoir yeast.

The tonka is just right. The coffee and chocolate flavours I would consider upping slightly next time.

It's very hard to describe. There marzipan/almond, coconut, sort of fruity too... Its very much a cake/patisserie type aroma off it. I dont know why I said patisserie, but that what it makes me think of.
 
Today's advent beer is a 9.5% baltic porter with cardamom and potatoes :oops: from Puhaste brewing
Thankfully neither of the extra ingredients are noticeable, but it is chocolatey and roasty and rich. As well as a bit boozy.

In full end of work/seasonal holiday/tier 4 lockdown mode now, so seeing off the last of my barrel of Youngs US IPA to make way for a Summer Glory golden ale about ready to cold crash

not sure if this is a golden ale or a lager but very enjoyable all the same
