Gahh! This is past it's best. BBE Jun 2020 the bottle shows. It tastes quite butterscotch, so I'm thinking diacetyl. Does that become accentuated over time?Oops, accidents do happen if you're not careful. One badly aimed thrust of a hand into a dark cupboard on a wet night, and out popped this bottle.
No choice but to drink it, I suppose.

Maybe oxidation then. It's caramelly with a twang of aftertaste. But there's the smell of butterscotch too.I don’t think so. It’s just there and likely to stay there if you have it. If it’s diacetyl it will also feel quite slippery on the roof of your mouth.
Sounds like you've enjoyed your residential. As a change the BBE on this is 2038!!!
7% lambic. Not had one before and not sure. I get it as I try to make "wild" beer every now and then and much like those want to try more despite the uncertainty...

It's not one of the greatest geuze in the world but it's still a really nice beer. Wish I had one right now actually, but I'll have to make do with my own Orval cloneAs a change the BBE on this is 2038!!!

Making the most of holiday with the in-laws...Sounds like you've enjoyed your residential.
Create a brew thread for the brew day.We have a thread called what kit beers are you drinking tonight but not what homebrew are you drinking tonight or what bought beer are you drinking tonight. I've no problem with bought beers but let's separate them from people's homebrew. Anyone can buy a beer from a shop but it's a craft to brew good beer so let's celebrate it.
Does this all the time, especially in super markets that often put out beer that's been sat in a warehouse for 6 monthsAm I the only one who looks at the BBE when opening a new exciting beer? Lol.
It usually seems to be a year from bottling/canning but occasionally 2 or 3 with higher ABVs
After a few wee Scottish Heavies, a bottle of Newcastle Brown. I saw some in the fridge at my local newsagent and they looked very tempting...

so what hops did you go with and what's the master plan? All done and tucked away in the fermentation cupboard. Four brews in one day is pretty full-on!

...and to finish off the day, one of my own beers - my Best Bitter.
