I’m pretty well full of beer at the moment because people were buying me beer all afternoon 🥴. Drinking Port at home now.

I did some more work on my brew shed today. I finished the electrics and put the glycol chiller in place today.

I know the glucose will drop it down a bit more but are you worried it will be a bit too sweet, or do you purposely aim for them to finish high?
I took another gravity reading for that bitter and as suspected it hadn’t finished fermenting. The reading is now exactly as expected at 1.014 putting the ABV at a little over 4.3%. 👍

Today I’ve been mainly focused on the cabinetry for my brew shed refit. In this picture the door to the cold box is open (I’ve just poured a beer too 😉). The door isn’t yet fixed, it’s just hanging there. The same is true for the lower chamber, the front panel is just resting in place.

This is roughly what it will look like when complete but there will be 3 STC controllers mounted in the front panel, one to tell me the glycol bath temperature, one to tell me the temperature in the upper half of the chiller cabinet, and one to control a fan that draws air through the lower half of the chiller cabinet (where the compressor is located) when the temperature rises over a threshold.

There is still quite a lot of work to do but I’m hoping to finish the lower section by Thursday and will then complete the cold box and brew shed refit.
