It is as I expected they are very poorly looked after. It isnāt as though they are bothered by competition. I have had Doom Bar in other pubs and one was a particularly good session. Like a different beer.

Bought these when I arrived, for my palate, Timothy Taylor Landlord was the best followed by Courage Directors. But had nothing bad to say about any of them. All excellent beers.

Just testing the latest batch of saison.
This one had the failed attempt at using frozen yeast slurry, so had an emergency pitch of CML Belgian instead of the usual belle saison. It shows sadly as it's missing that extra funky dimension. Nice though.

Hmmm didnāt realise theyād resurrected it, but that lookās nothing like the old Golden Glory far too dark.
Probably another beer that has been tweaked to save costs.
Not sure if I want to try it as it used to be one of my favourite beers and so tarnish my fondness for it.
Time for a Storm, should had had this last week, would have been more appropriate. Yet another nice beer so thatās two for two so far.
Iām having a glass of my Pirate Pale tonight. Iāve been a bit quiet for the last couple of days recovering from the beer festival on Saturday with one daughter and a family pub day on Sunday with the other daughter.
Yesterday catch up.
Preprandial my Darkish Hoppy Bitter.
Nailed this one.
I'll use this as a base to vary the hops used.
Meanwhile SWMBO'D started as she meant to continue, a visitor gift that was way better than reviewed on t'interweb.
Unusual for a youngish Burgundy it had a deposit in the bottom, so needed decanting and filtering of the end of pour.
Wonderful fruit aromas, carried on to (dry) full morello cherry flavour and a velvety grip. A very good Hautes Cotes de Nuits.
Especially enjoyed as it was a gift.

You chose my two favourites out of them all
Pub lunch with the grandchildren and I had London Pride. On the way home I had to pop into Waitrose to buy some oats for my brew tomorrow and found they had one of my favourite bottled beers on the shelf. Had to buy some

My Stout which is now quite old. I just checked, kegged mid February so maybe not as old as I thought. Still nice though 
Iām moving on to my Porter. I kegged a new batch a couple of days ago but this one was kegged in October last year and is still beautiful.
Iāve decided to move on to this beautiful port. My wife is having a small imperial for a change
