I'm going to make a BIAB clone of Sierra Nevada pale ale.
It's going to be more heavily hopped than most clones I've seen. Here's the recipe if anyone's interested
5100g Maris otter
500g crystal malt
17g magnum hops at 60 min
16g perle hops at 30 min
50g cascade at 10 min
70g cascade at 0 min
80g cascade dry hop
This will be around 25l
I was going to mash at 67c
Does this sound okay

Not knowing what crystal your planning on using. And also what your OG and FG is going to be.

But that does look a touch heavy handed with the crystal malt.

Think about what balance of malt character Vs bitterness Vs alcohol Vs hoppiness your trying to achieve/mimic.

I'm going to only put about 200g of the crystal as I mistakenly ordered the wrong malt should have been pale crystal, hopefully this will be ok

I made an extremely hoppy Stout a while back and I loved it.I had used 250g of roasted barley.I thought I would brew it only using bittering hops and found it to be really bitter as the hops had masked the bitterness.
Next time I'll reduce by half so do be wary using speciality malts.

I'd ordered crystal from malt miller. I should have checked but really I needed pale crystal. Hopefully be ok. It's made now and in fermenting fridge at 17c with 2 packs of cross my loof American pale ale yeast. Just have to wait and see

Just got in from a night shift and tried one of these beautiful beers. WOW tastes better than the original by a mile. I'm impressed going to brew this again, and probably again. I love ❤️ being able to make beer
