Have you compared it with a Brewtools system? These are similar in that everything can be replaced, the whole system can be modified and setup as you want, and similar sort of price! I have had one for about 4 years and find it fantastic, never used or even really looked into the Braumeister system so cant comment on how they compare but may be worth looking into if you havent already.

I sold mine, for a BM.

I have had a play on a brew tools. Tbh it struck me as a bit like a kit (but that configurable) but mainly I thought the controller was lacking.

Nice kit, just not for me.

When I had an itch to upgrade, I also reviewed the camurri brauer, but never touched one.

Brewzilla 3 and subvariants is a solid bit of kit.
Moddable but limited volume made me upgrade to a 70 litre.
I mostly make 23 litre batches in it.
But it's a breeze for high gravity batches at 20 litres.
Mine with retrofitted SmartPID and some pump and tubing changes is safe to start and leave until sparge stage.
Should be able to find brewzilla 3 or robobrew seconds hand as many fall into trap of upgrade to the brewzilla 4 which looks like it causes a lot of woes.

Braumeister has a patent on the pumping from the bottom up, mashing is carried out during pump rests. The pump displaces all the grain so is in effect stirring the grain. I sold mine as I had 40 systems at the time but they are worth the money, or were they are expensive now and I do know they could be looking at getting parts sourced in China to reduce the cost.
What I would be looking at if buying today is the 40 litre Guten they come in two widths now one is the same width as the 70 litre, which allows for better draining. I did ask Sandy from Guten about the price but I haven't got a price back due to Chinese New Year.
$288 US for the 70 litre as a one off.
When I ordered one in 2017 I ordered it on the Friday and it was delivered Monday morning.

What is the going rate for a used Braumeister 20 L and 50 L
That's a "how long is a piece of string question" really.
It depends on lots of factors model, mods, extras, platform, delivery and the seller.

Expect to pay..
BM20 Ā£500 - Ā£1000
BM50 Ā£700 - Ā£1200

You happy that you did? Is the BM a lot better? Im interested and had a quick check on ebay and getting tempted to buy a BM50 second hand with the thinking I could sell one and get back a decent amount back, or keep both and do double brewdays.
Can I ask why a 50? What batch size do you normally brew?

I normally brew 2 kegs worth, so about 44L into fermenters. I dont get to brew as often as I like so fill both fermenters in one batch and then have the chance to play with different yeasts / dry hopping. Its amazing how different the finished beer can be just from using a different yeast

Is the BM the only machine in that category? I love the idea of a plug n play brew, me being a lazy bugger
Well no. I mean most starters start with a Klarstein and move up through Brewzillas and Grainfathers (G40 is popular).

I'm just thinking about going straight from a Citroen 2CV to a Porsche. Cut out the middle man.

Better is subjective.

The BM is in my opinion but I donā€™t sparge and use the built in cooling jacket most of the year round.

The BT was just a pain with valves to operate, often incorrectly, counter flow chiller, clamps, seals etc. (and that is an extra cost)

The BM is a true all in one. A simple brewday is an enjoyable brewday.
