Me and the Mrs went to Costco about a week or so before the world went to s**t. We weren’t panic buying but as long as we don’t start emptying our guts out we should have enough loo roll lol

There is no shortage of bog roll in our corner shop so maybe these are the places to look if your local supermarkets have been stripped bare.

Give it about 3 weeks and you'll also need to purchase a shotgun to keep off those who weren't so forward thinking
:laugh8:

I don’t listen to a lot of what people say because it just makes you panic but people have been looting and robbing peoples houses for Bog Roll etc. The Government SHOULD have clamped down from the a beginning and it’s the only reason I think that the army should get involved.

I’m not excited about it but guns scare me lol and I’d rather not be shot so it would defo reduce crime

Loads of corner shops etc have started hiking prices. There’s nothing 100% set in law to stop them doing this neither

Thousands of gallons of ale will be poured down the drain unless people have it home delivered, a brewery said.

Severn Brewery produces beer for pubs but following government guidance to avoid pubs its managing director said business had "fallen off a cliff".

Iain Crockett said cask ale has a shelf life of eight weeks and the firm is "sitting on" 2,700 gallons (12,275 litres) of it.

He said they are hoping a home delivery service will keep their business going.

The brewery, in Tortworth near Bristol, said it normally sends out about "100 to 200 containers a week" but this week it had done "virtually nothing".

"We're sitting on something like £20,000 worth of stock of cask ale," said Mr Crockett.

"It only has a maximum of about eight weeks on it and if it's just left it will be poured down the drain."

'Horrified'

He said it is "easier to throw it away" but he thinks a lot of people would be "horrified to think of all that beer going to waste".

"If a lot of people contacted us for deliveries we could do it," he said.

"We've got the vans and the people because they're not brewing - it's more a case of the number of people wanting it delivered."

Mr Crockett said there were about 300 nine gallon (40 litre) casks of unwanted brewed ale and it could be sold in two gallon (10 litre) boxes to be delivered anywhere from South Worcestershire to North Somerset.

We live in a small housing estate with one shop without our custom he would be bankrupt so i don't think he will try anything on. (hasn't so far)

Elephant and castle sainsbury's in SE London, not too far from me was broken into and looted

So far it seems most of the profiteering I’ve seen has being via eBay or Amazon marketplace. Actual retailers or other established businesses have reputations to protect so I suspect are unlikely to engage in price gouging.

They can deliver some to me in the Hamlet if they like. I'd take some of their hands and not even charge them for it :laugh8:

A "Munted S**tshow"! Described in that video I've posted above.

<EDIT: Crickey, "munted" really is an appropriate word down-under. I've looked it up on Google.>

Just had an email from Wychwood-
" With more and more restrictions being put in place and it becoming harder and harder to pick up your beer, why not drop into your local brewery? Where you can buy your weekly supply direct from the source."

"Our network of sister breweries all stock a wide range of the UK’s freshest and award winning beers in both bottle and can. You can even purchase fresh cask beer in piggins (18 pints) and polypins (35 pints)*. Click on the brewery links below for opening hours and brewery locations. We want to make it easy for you to stop by, say hello and collect your beer. "

May work but I don't know if it could be classed as essential travel.

The Toilet Roll situation in Lincolnshire is getting worse!

Apparently, a number of Councils have been forced to close down Public Toilets because ...

Version "A" ... some very anti-social people keep stealing the Toilet Paper and soap!

Version "B" ... some very poor people keep stealing the Toilet Paper and soap!

Version "C" ... some very desperate people keep stealing the Toilet Paper and soap!

I must admit that I draw the line at the person who stole the whole toilet from Alford!

Update from Australia.

I had to work today. I work as a courier for a medical company, not in an office.
Noticed people sat outside the local pub way too close. Doesn't appear any tables have been moved.
Although a lady at work said she went out for a meal and the tables were spaced well apart.
I saw a couple of women meet at a railway station. Hug & kiss.

The doctors surgery's I visited have changed in the last couple of days.
They now have a row of chairs in front of the reception desk to stop people getting too close.
The people who are too stupid to see the tape marked on the floor that they continually step over that is.
Some doctors are setting up marquees in their car parks so patients don't go inside.
I've been told by someone that doctors are cutting their hours as they are failing to cope.
My partner when to the doctor the other day. Not Covid 19 related. Her appointment was 1.25 hours late.

Supermarkets have got their logistics going. I have to say most things were available today.
No toilet paper. Not that we need it. I would have bought a packet if there was any.
I know at least three people who are very short.
Very happy to pick up a leg of pork as my daughter is home for the weekend. That'll be in the BBQ tomorrow.

Life goes on as normal, but I think it's going to change soon and a lot of people don't realise what is going to hit them.
The medical places are taking it seriously. The general public, not.

Thanks for the update Pete. Got relatives in Tasmania and, from what I heard this
Morning, they're taking it a bit more seriously.

My local Surgery have just introduced a system called "AskGP" which allows you to log on, explain via t'Internet whatever you wish to discuss and then sit back and wait for the email that gives you the Doctor's verdict.

According to the Receptionist, this is designed to stop the hundreds of people turning up at the Surgery and/or phoning the Surgery. The lass herself seemed to think (hope?) that she would be out of a job pretty soon.

My only thought is "What about the people who don't have email addresses or computers or just haven't a clue as to how to use t'Internet?"

For myself and SWMBO it is a step in the right direction, but I can see a number of problems ahead for others!
