It's no wonder London is the epicentre for this as its likely to have come into UK via the six major Airports it has. Other cities seem to be a week or two behind London.

We have been to Tesco for our monthly shop they are limiting all items to three but the shelves are still bare, all the usual stuff the panic buying scum buy is still impossible to get hold of I hope these new limits will do the job and stock builds up

The government have announced all pubs, cafes, gyms etc will close tomorrow, cafes etc are allowed to deliver they want us to stay away from each other and this will force us to do it

It seems Boris has told the pubs, restaurants and gyms to close from tonight- not sure if it's just in London or nationwide. Not sure, either, if he's going to enforce it. But this is the time to be a home brewer. As my mother in law (the hag) used to misquote with regular monotony: "The sun shines on the righteous".

Government have announced they will pay 80% of any workers wages ftom what I understand to hell stop them being laid off, they are also deferrimg VAT payments.

So all pubs, cafe's restraunts etc are to close. Watch all the alcohol now get panic bought. Im putting a starter on thise eve for a brew next week

This is from the Guardian live blog, so looks like uk wide

"Johnson says the government is strengthening the measures announced on Monday – avoiding unnecessary social contact.
Following agreement of all the four nations of the UK, Johnson said all cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants must close tonight.
Night clubs, theatres, gyms, cinemas and leisure centures must also close on the same timescale."

More detail from BBC

The government is to pay 80% of wages for employees not working, up to £2,500 a month, Chancellor Rishi Sunak says.

The "unprecedented" measures are part of government plans to protect people's jobs, he says.

Many firms have been warning of collapse, wiping out thousands of jobs, as life in the UK is largely put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He added that the closure of pubs and restaurants would have a "significant impact" on businesses.

The Chancellor made an appeal to employers to stand by their workers during the coronavirus crisis.

"Let me speak directly to businesses: I know it's incredibly difficult out there - we in government are doing everything we can to support you," he said.

"The government is doing its best to stand behind you and I'm asking you to do your best to stand behind our workers."
