Late to this, but I always squeeze. If you don't like tannins, then why would you drink tea!

I've used CRS to clean a kettle. Does that count?

Presumably it's a similar idea to making your brewing liquor more chloride-biased when you don't want to emphasise bitterness in your beer.

Of all people, brewers should understand the influence of water chemistry on flavour.

Salt in tea

The thing that ruins tea is not leaving the bag in the hot but not boiling water long enough, I am guilty of this, throw the bag in the cup pour boiling watar on the bag then squash it against the side of the cup to get the flavour pit quick.

You don't put enough in to taste the salt though. I can confirm it works
