One always squeezes.....it is merely a question of if one should! What a typical British forum thread ... to squeeze or not to squeeze
Surely there must be a dedicated forum on the subject?
I save myself all these decisions and just drink beerAt first I thought this was about hoptea bags, in which case my answer would have been: I always squeeze!
But as this is about regular tea, I only squeeze soetimes. It depends on the tea really.....

I have hands of steel so don't normally get the ouch factor, but just now I have chilblains and it bloody hurts!I squeeze! The time allowance of squeezing is important. You must get the ouch factor. Tea must be brown.

Oooh, I remember those meetings .... best thing is offer a cup, that will calm them down ,,,,I primarily use loose tea at home but I was in the office today so it’s tea bags, but no squeezing, I add the bag and water then get the auditor approaching me with a quick question and then an hour later remember the mug sitting on the side ditch it and start again.
I'm with you on the Yorkshire Tea and always in a pot , so no bag squeezing.Have you tried Yorkshire tea? My favourite. I still set a 5 minute timer though while brewing it cos I'm weird, and if I don't, I'll forget I've made it
