Down here in Devon we don`t get much snow, it`s been pretty cold and it did snow early this year - nothing yet though!

There is quite a bit here in south cheshire, and there was bloody loads of it at edgely park yesterday, You could hardly see the ball at one point!

We had snow for a couple of hours during the night . . . . Brought the place to a standstill . . . If you can't EFFIN drive in the EFFIN snow EFFIN stay at home!!!!!    Took me FIVE AND A HALF EFFIN HOURS to do an 8 mile round trip to muck out and feed the horse . . . and I ended up abandoning the car in a lay by and walking a mile and a half each way to the stables . . . . Took me an hour in total yesterday.

What is the point in unleashing 120BHP and F**K knows how much torque through the front wheels in first to try and go uphill on packed snow . . . it didn't work the first EFFIN time you tried it it's not going to work on the 10th!!!! FFS 2nd or 3rd and ease and squeeze.

. . . . . and please don't get me started on the kn**s in the "Ultimate driving machine"

Got up this morning at silly oclock ohhh say 05:30 and was on the road at 06:00 in 4inches if snow in preston off to Newcastle I was drove through a mini blizard between lancaster and morcombe turn off on the M6, was kind of odd really as 5 miles outside of preston nothing to be seen in the way of white stuff then a few more miles further on big drifts of the stuff. Made it to Why Eyyyy land did the job required and drove home no problems appard for the idiots slamming on their breaks comming back over the A66 when ever they saw a slight gusting of snow comming over the road gesh what are these people thinking  goto keep it steady and no sudden breaking accelerating or turns makes for a much happier car. Almost went into the back of one of the idiots and I keep a decent distance needless to say time to go past them all and carry on so over to the outside lane and carefully creap past them.

Funny really some people were telling me I would not make it but the roads seeing as they are main roads were a little slushy on the way but well gritted on the way home.

Time for a pint me thinks for a job well done.

Side note if ou dont know how to drive in the snow / on ice or in generally rubbish conditions time to either A. get some proper lessions in driving in crappy weather or B stay at home and dont get in the way of others who can drive in the rubbish the weather throws at us as accidents are mostly caused by overcautious drivers slamming the brakes on when it is tottally unnessisary...... Freaking idiot Im scared of the snow drivers.

So called Ultimate driving machine owner here, although I think mine needs to go back to garage as:

1: The indicators work regularily
2: It lets people out at junctions
3: It got me home tonight, up hill I passed various other vehicles including 4x4s
4: 2nd or 3rd @ 1200rpm works wonders uphill.
5: It was wearing GSD3 F1's 0.5mm off the wear indicators.

it's not the car, it's the driver, slow and steady wins the race in ice :-)

sorry, but not all BMW owners are 'twunts (tm)'. in fact, most of the twunts are in Audi's these days.

ps GSD3 F1's = summer tyres

Totally agree.
If you don't feel confident due to the road conditions, then don't go out on the road.
Drink drivers are often accused of being over confident after a few jars, and we are always shown what can happen in those circumstances...
Why the hell don't we have similar advertising campaigns for idiots who take to the road and then don't have the confidence to drive

I second that  Its all about being smooth and gentle with the car, smooth application of accelerator, smooth steering and particularly smooth on the brakes!!

Its snowing again here in East Lanc's! another 2 inch or so over night! :thumb:
