it is snow up north! I got snowed on putting my motobike back in the shed after work! 'tis a little chilly in the wilds of North Yorkshire!

Love the white stuff! Had winter tyres on our cars for last 4 winters , nothing to cheer you up like watching a nice flash motor beached on 2" of snow
my wife has a 1 series, the right tyres make all the difference.
lovely crisp autumn day here, good day for a long walk.

Keep the chuffing snow over he east then I don't want it hate the stuff try driving a truck in it not nice when your going sideways

Snow is brilliant...............

On a postcard sent from Alaska.
Keep it we don't want it.
a quarter inch of snow just shows up the inadequacies of our Councils forward planning. Every year they tell me lessons have been learned.... they never have.
Every year it catches them by surprise...who would expect snow in winter...
We now have a great big grit store in the town alongside a new council depot...( because of its shape its known as the Grit Tit ) we had 6 months of major disruption after last years snows as it was being built, I guarantee as I struggle to work at 0500 hours in this years snows I will see rows and rows of nicely parked gritter lorries....

Keep the chuffing snow up North / over the East, anywhere but here in the middle.

Nice to look at through the window when you don't have to drive anywhere.

Even nicer to watch on the TV from the warmth of your own living room. The Alpine ski season opens today from Sölden in Austria and they seem to have plenty of the white stuff there, I just watched the first run of the Women's giant slalom and the men get underway tomorrow. Nordic disciplines don't start for another 4 weeks though.

Giant slalom and downhill, they are catagories of driving and parking here during the winter.

A few flakes and the whole world falls apart.

:wha:

Front wheel drive diesel Rover 75, plus snow socks*, a few inches aren't a problem :)

If it's coming make it 24", that way the boss will pay me to stay at home and wind the dogs up.

And the wifes Freelander in reserve if that fails :)

keep all the Snow up in Scotland

We know they love it otherwise why would anybody want to live there and make life unbearably difficult

Even the Romans, a once dominant world power built a wall across and said "Stuff that up there"

And that just about sums up my feelings on the place too

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Actually i know somebody that has just moved down from the north coast

They said, They dont live, they exist, the place is a nightmare to live 80mph winds all the time, triple glazing. constant weather damage to property and about two weeks in June they have some kind of summer and they get plagued with midges that make it impossible to sit outside.

Like i said

Stuff that for a way of life

Back from a weekend with the missus in Alston, Cumbria and we decided on Saturday to head over to Barnard Castle for the farmers market. Took one route and got to a point where the sign said 15% incline and the our poor Seat said that was enough, so we gingerly took a different route and this was what we encountered

Yup, got home safe and sound ta, just kept the revs low and used the torque of the diesel engine to take us through, kept off the brakes and kept fingers crossed! It was beautiful scenery, shame my focus was otherwise taken! Fortunately we don't get snow in Morecambe, so no need for winter tyres and I'm not sure they do them for an R1??
