Thought This would be interesting as i'm currently in the process of sourcing the required bits and bobs to build my own!

Show us what you've got

This is my kegerator! Holds 3 Cornies, cost me £10 for the fridge and about £50 for the parts! Absolutely love it!

thats superb.....whats the " blackboard " made out of ?

It's in the kitchen next to the Parrot!
The blackboard is a vinal chalkboard. Didn't quite get it on right as you can see so I'm gonna replace it soon! Other than that its the best thing I've ever bought!

mind if we see inside? ;)

without the space for a dedicated fridge,, (one day..)
my kegs are stored in an attached x-coalshed..

spent a bit of time insulating and cladding it to help maintain a stable temp, i need to tweak when temps change dramatically and purge before pouring when left a few days or longer between sessions.

i had intended to tidy the gas lines with a ss tube backbone, but never got round to it..

oak flooring ;) £8 for a half pack from bnq ;) sat on camping mats for insulation, should have set some foam in the concrete.. hindsight.. :)

other side of the wall,,

cheers.. must admit i need to polish the brass its not looking its best right now..
without temp control its a bit of a knack serving when conditions change thru the year ive considered coils round the kegs etc but at the end of the day its less hassle just to tweak as and when (usually when guests arrive for a sample) by venting and resetting gas pressure slightly up when temps are cooling and slightly down when temps are rising.. or perhaps i just like to fiddle ;)
I do lose condition over the warmer months and gain it in winter due to ambient temps but its easy to correct, but the change is so gradual a keg is generally empty before its an issue

if you have the option tho go for a temp controlled fridge makes life a lot easier and gives u a totally set once and pour solution.

It it necessary to have a temp controller attached to a fridge used as a kegerator? Or is it OK to just turn the fridges temp as high as it will go to hopefully achieve a 12 degree cellar sort of temp?

went off on one ment 2 give u 2 kegging tips that might save u time n cash

1) always check the gas bottle mating face when u exchange a refill, soft brass and even tho caged in the neck can get a clout or 2 and get damaged, if gnarled at all it will probably seal ok on your reg but will chew up n kill the wsher so the next bottle u attatch could just drop out overnight,,, yep it happened..

2) flow control taps are great for low-med conditioned beers served upto 8psi (according to my gauges) over that pressure the sweetspot is impossible to hit nd needs a constant fix each pour never hitting it. at lower pressures tho they are great and can be set once and pour.

happy kegging

cheer mate. Some very valuable advice there! I've got 2 flow control taps on order and I only drink ales so no problem there. I'll be sure to check my co2 tank the next time I get a replacement. Only problem is that my supplier uses a courier to send out cylinders so I won't know the condition until I've got it here. Maybe they would replace it if I made enough fuss?

couple of pictures of my " dispensing " area....PD's brewery alias my garage.....

I'm waiting on some colored beerline so I can more easily see which corny is attached to which pump.

" a small establishment but with a Big atmosphere, PD's baa...r is fast becoming the most talked about new drinking place in Maltby
The beer is good, plentiful and very cheap what more can you ask for "..........................he heee

This is mine, the taps are Perlicks bought from the States, the gas management board allows 3 different pressures. They're dangerous things to have as there's no pile of empties to show your consumption!

Out in the garage, just working as a fridge at the moment but have bought all the bits to get it running of a temp controller before it gets sub-zero out there

and inside
