Now that I've been reminded how to post a photo (thanks @Chippy_Tea).
I can share my first attempt at a lager. It's a Japanese rice lager from Greg Hughes HBB book. I'm rather chuffed with how it's turned out.

That's on my To-Brew list. Any more insight into how this one brewed and what it tastes like?

I brewed it with the Grainfather in much the same way as any other brew.

I now have a brew fridge and a inkbird, so fermentation temperature control was relatively easy. I fermented at 12c as per instructions, I think 2 weeks or so had gone by before I was satisfied that fermentation was finished. I then raised the temperature to 18c (over the course of 3 days, stopping at 14 and 16c) and left it for 4 days iirc.

I then dropped it down to 3c for 1 week.

I kegged it and set the gas to 20 psi for a couple of days, took the gas off and left it for a week (this was just guesswork, but it's come out about right for me).

I'm serving at 7c. It's a nice refreshing beer, not very hoppy, quite sweet, with a dry finish. You can definitely taste the rice. My wife says it tastes like beer from the indian i.e cobra or bangla, but I'm not so sure, although her taste buds might be more sensitive than mine.

I'd make it again, although I might reduce the rice. Not because I don't like the taste, simply because it slowed the pump down quite a bit in the GF and I was a little concerned it would get stuck.:cheers7:

My favourite and by far the clearest raw beer so far. Pilsner malt, a bit of wheat and melanoidin. kolsch yeast.

It looks good, any hops in there or is it just malt? Do you gain anything with a raw beer other than a shorter brewday and are there any issues with shelf life? Sorry lots of questions.

No problem. I put hops in the mash and dry hopped. To add bitterness i used pre isomerised hop oil but you can boil some hops in water instead. No issues with shelf life. Not sure that you gain anything apart from time, water and electricity. Its not better or worse and i am struggling to tell any difference to be honest. Really good fun though and i will be making more soon. I got the idea to do a pilsner style beer from this thread. I believe yeast choice is essential to get that clartity though so if you make one and want it clear make sure you use a yeast you know will clear.

my first beer served from a cornie, Greg Hughes Patersbier. (When I say first beer, this was the first beer I put in a cornie, I was drinking it at 2 weeks way cloudier than it is now (6 weeks))
That looks commercial quality. You must be very pleased.

Thank you, I am very pleased, but I like to think my beers are better than commercial quality, at least that's what I always aim for.
I'm biased but I think some of them are, others not so good, but gradually improving on techniques, equipment and patience.
I rarely buy commercial beer now unless I'm traveling or want to try something that I've read about.

Here is my tribute to England beating Peru. I'm about 8 pints down on the batch now but this is my second tonight... it may not be my last. I might even go on to My Peroni later - if I survive dinner.

You’ve only had two tonight but it’s enough to get Peru and Panama confused :beer1:

Oktoberfest brewed from a Brewolution A/G kit - (the 'Fall of the Wall' one). Bit cloudy, but tastes like it should
Cheers :beer1:

Wife is in amongst my beer after a long day in the sun. Here's the pic I got sent. Looks like the head on my Helles is improving after a couple of more weeks in the bottle.

Is that an ikea glass I see there? I have some too and they are great for stouts and darker beers.
