Decided to brew this again last night though changed out the bittering hop for Magnum and changed the Pale Malt for Maris Otter as it's whole grain from last year needing used up but this time I was bang on with my expected OG at 1.060 and 23l to the fermenter.
Decided to swap out the yeast for CML The Firm which was pitched about 00.30am and was kicking off when I checked about 11.00am.
Brewzilla efficiency came in at 70% according to Brewers Friend and shall wait and see what my FG shall be once completed.
Cheers and thanks for looking, shall keep it updated...
Good to see your back in the saddle 👌

Took a notion yesterday to clean fermenter and keg my last brew which was lying for about 2 months then told the wife I was going to put a brew on bit it was too cold so she said why don't you brew in the kitchen like you did before and she didn't have to say it twice...

Bottled and kegged yesterday and was in the fermenter for just over five weeks and came in at 1.020 so a bit less attenuation than expected though have read this about the Firm yeast.Needless to say the taste test was fantastic with a little bit of biscuit sweetness and a slightly orange flavour ,slight orange hew and looking forward to tasting once it's carbonated.

When I used The Firm I co-pitched with Nottingham yeast and it turned fine FG of 1010.
Understandably pitching with Nottingham yeast which is on its own a high attenuator would give those results but then your blending two different types though similar to an extent and I'm sure combined would be a great combination.
