Hello, new to this forum, been brewing for approx 2 years but still have the odd disaster.

My current kit has been at primary fermentation for 7-8 days now & its still bubbling. Instructions say 4-6 days.

Do I really need to wait til it stops bubbling before barrelling for secondary fermentation?.

In the past I think ive waited too long(for the bubbling to stop) and I think that's why ive had a couple of disasters.

Feel free to ask me any questions if it helps answer my question better.

Cheers

Yes its to early, i always leave mine 2 weeks, kit instructions are always far too opitimistic, to the point of being unrealistic in the real world.

Edit if its still bubbling its still fermenting, let the yeast finish the job and clean up after themselves

Totally agree with Steve, here, you really do not want to barrel a cloudy beer, so leave until there is is as little yeast sediment as possible before you barrel. At this time of year 14 days is the minimum and as long as you don't keep opening the lid of the FV, you will get no "disasters" at this stage.
