Google but I may give duckduckgo a whirl after the change of the layout and what appears to be more ads at the start and end of search results on Google and the introduction of teeny weeny logos so I can't tell the difference on mobile!

Bing is pants
Others I've never really given a proper go

Same here... I'm using Google...but I'm getting tired of the ads.... I've heard of Duck Duck go for a while now.. must give it a try sometime. :thumba:

Things i like so far -

[1] - Search results seem more relevant.

[2] - After the first search you can tick "UK only" which probably helps [1]

If that actually works then I'm converted! Just wish there was something like this in Ebay... sick of having to trail through US search results that are not relevant to me. Clicking on the search UK only doe's NOT work. Grrrrrrr!

I use ask jeeves

I remember using that a while ago, i see its now called ASK.

Some eye-watering figures in the chart below -

Update.

I used to switch between Firefox and Opera browsers years ago then switched to Chrome when it came out as i was impressed with the extra speed but lately i have been having issues with slow page loading and when i paste text into a post it take ages to appear so as i have been messing about i thought i would give Firefox and Opera atry to see how they have changed over the years, long story short i am now using Opers again its much faster than chrome and my page loading and paste issues have gone.

Enjoy an ad-free web
Tired of online ads? Opera is the first major web browser that can block ads for you without add-ons. According to tests, our built-in ad blocker makes content-rich webpages load in Opera up to 90% faster.

Multitask on the web easily
Our visual bookmarks, tab cycling and customizable shortcuts, keep you on track and save you time. Can’t get enough online video? Don’t miss our new video pop out feature – a floating, moveable video frame that lets you keep browsing or work in other apps without missing any of the action.

Browse faster and longer
Opera’s speed and performance are among our top priorities. The data-compressing Opera Turbo feature, native ad blocker and other features will help you browse faster. And, the new battery saver feature will help you browse longer, too: it extends laptop battery life by up to 50%.

Personalize your browser
Over 1,000 extensions make it easy to customize Opera. Download the extensions and themes you like from Opera’s add-ons catalog to get the best browser experience with a personal touch. With the animated themes, you can even bring Opera’s start page to life.

Get your personal news feed
Opera brings the latest news to one spot, available from the browser’s start page. Personalize your news feed to read what is most relevant to you. You can add preferred news sources from all over the world, in addition to the top 50 articles from your region.

Take your browser data with you
Switch between devices and pick up browsing where you left off with Opera sync. Bookmarks, open tabs and other data stay synced through your Opera account. Want to keep Opera with all its settings handy on a USB drive? Try portable version.

Is altavista still on the go?

The big boys squished it.

When AltaVista was in its prime, Google didn’t exist. But Google didn’t take long to dispose of its rival and force it into the arms of Yahoo. The demise of AltaVista is a cautionary tale for any successful online business. Despite being a pioneer, and far more advanced than its competitors, it proved fallible when its users deserted it.

I tried DuckDuckGo but the results just weren't as good as Google. Similarly I tried to use Ecosia as it plants trees but again I'm too used to Google's great results.
