Plastic (band aid) taste in beer

I have just kegged my latest beer, but it tastes of plasters. Reading about it, this may have been residue from the Chlorinated cleaner I used. Is this a list cause or is there a chance it will get better.

Chuck or not to chuck?

I've had this and it ended up getting thrown away. Just make sure you give everything a real good clean as I had a slight residual tang of this for several brews later (or I was just tasting it because I was so paranoid).
 
Band aid? I hope you mean plasters?wink...

I had that problem. But the keg had silicone tubing components. And the silicone would take up the chlorine if soaked too long in VWP (or any chlorine based cleaner?).

The beer not in direct contact with the tubing was fine. Watch out for that one before resorting to tipping the beer away.
 
I used to have an ongoing issue with phenolic brews, in particular the medicinal 'bandaid' variety. While it's commonly blamed on chlorine in my case it was the particular yeast strain that was producing the 'bandaid' most times I used it. I'd eliminated chlorine as the possible cause and kinda knew it probably wasn't anyway simply because the problem only ever happened when I fermented with this one particular yeast strain. And, quite surprisingly the yeast in question was the ever popular US-05. I haven't used it since and haven't had the problem since.

'Bandaid' definitely doesn't improve over time. I put one such brew aside for 8 months once and it was still horrible.
