Does your pid have an auto tune option as ours did the same as yours overshot the target temp untill we run the autotune then it was fine

Hi Mark

yes it has Autotune, you hold down the set key for 2 seconds then go through the menu until it get to "ATU" (the t is an upside down "L") you then toggle the value between 0 (default off) and 1 (on).

Cheers
NB

The auber pids come pre set to use with a pt.100 probe so after all the fuss they were simple to set up just altered a few settings and then auto tuned them easy

I bought my PIDs after one too many beers on fleabay without researching them sufficiently, at £10 each I didn't mind taking a risk. Fortunately it looks like I've been lucky, however I still have 3 to change from K type to PT100 so only when they have all been changed and tested will I be happy. So far so good.

If any body has any doubts I suggest they pay the extra and buy the Auber, I can only go on my experience, the manufacturers could always change the hardware between batches, probably not but who knows.

Hello! Thank you all for answers! My SSR is driven by the 12v adapter and that works just fine. Switching on and off is very quickly and that is ok. I have auto tune option and i set it to on. Then my pid over shoot temp by 5C, then let my water to cool again to 65C and then holds it steady. I found on internet that there are so many models of REX C-100. Some manuals are similar but not the same. When i hold set button I got the main menu and that's ok. But there is one more menu that I can change my probes, put my temperature on decimals and I can't access to that menu. At least, i want my pid to shows 55.5C, not just 55C.

Thanx

Excellent :D So you managed to convert the PID from K type to PT100 and change the temp range to 0-100 giving you a decimal point?

Exactly :D Problem was in my lck tab. I had to type 1000 to unlock sub menu to change type of probe. After that, everything was easy!  :drunk:

ive just bought 2 more pt100+ probes they have an m8 thread so will use them as spares
Weird thing is though i bought them for 99p each but now they are over £50 each   wonder why??

Found one. PT100 99p plus £2,39 shipping. Also ordered my PID Rex C100 and SSR with heat sink. Now I just need to source a suitable box and figure out how to put it all together. :hmm:

Try maplins their project boxes do fine just make sure you get a big one

I was looking at them on the internet. Finding one big enough in stock might be the problem. I also wondered about a 'lock and lock' box with a few holes for ventilation.

Good ideas. I was thinking of something like this: £6.95 plus £2.55 shipping. E Bay

What kind of fitting do you use to fit the PT100 probe to the boiler and MT? I see it has a screw thread, but what do people screw it into to give a good seal?
