He's a big baby.
Found him. He's a pollytician for Retařd UK. Only 38, he's already been locked up for assaulting a woman. No wonder he talks in terms of "give them a kicking". Is this really the kind of person we want representing us in Parliament?
Just looking at this morning's papers re benefits "scroungers": it seems that 1- the Cons had loved this class of people who provided and excellent scapegoat and distraction from their incompetence 2- Labour's trying to tackle the problem head on. Whether their approach will work is another matter, but that remains to be seen 3- some Labour thinks it's unlabour to resurrect the myth of benefits scroungers anyway, Abbot et al.

The trouble with Labour, as far as I can see, is that they would put a bunch of undertakers into terminal depression.
Everything is gloom, all "difficult" decisions, everything will get worse before it gets better- if it ever will!

What we really want is blood! We want to salivate over the sight of the super rich being beggared. We want to see fairness and justice and then the little things like pensioners heating allowance and farmers' sheep tax will fall into place. Give us a ringside seat at the gallows or the guillotine and we, the little people, will shoulder our part of the burden, too. It has always been thus.

Rachel Reeves is the most depressing person I've ever seen. The source of all our mental 'elf! Burn her and put Angela in charge, I say.

Been tried before, the cream always rises to the top. Lop off the heads of the wealthy and another lot takes their place.
Will there ever be any equality? Never, there will always be achievers and underachievers, been that way since we left the trees.

Excellent news An inexhaustible supply of wealth just waiting to be taxed.

Equality isn't the issue. The nearest we got to that was experiments with communism and that was a million miles from working. No, Juvenal had it right with his panem et circenses (bread and circuses). The people are disillusioned with "the state", political reform is a pipe dream and what people want is enough to eat and entertainment. Equality isn't the goal- it's happiness, and what makes us happy is seeing the privileged get their come-uppance. We could do with a French Revolution to cheer everyone up.

Sadly no matter how many signatures it will not make the slightest bit of difference, just like the previous governments (all of them) they will say anything to get in power and do what they want and be above reproach. This was clear when suggested they had broken a promise to farmers, despite all the video, audio and written evidence the reply was no we do not accept that.
Much like the position on the International Criminal Court, when asked will the UK arrest Netanyahu if he sets foot on UK soil the answer was no we do not agree with the ICC yet push for Putin to be arrested, when further questioned the response was worse, courts make mistakes we reserve the right overrule any decision as government! remind you of anyone else who tried this?
As temperatures plummeted last week to -7 in some areas of Scotland the Government after having removed winter fuel payments for pensioners, announce the energy cap is increasing again, GB Energy is nowhere to be seen and certainly not reducing bills.
Right now we are getting worst of both parties, the pain that the Tories planned that Labour will not alter and further pain they say they need to inflict.

Change the faces still same result utter contempt for the UK electorate.

We expect our politicians to fail and even to some extent lie to us - that is exactly why the last lot was kicked out so strongly, but the extent the current lot is failing and outright lying to us is on a whole other level so soon into a new adminisation and people are rightly thinking "if this is what's happened after barely a handful of months in office what's coming over the next 4 years". So this petition might be a useless gesture, but just one other way people can express their disapprovement of the current government. And to brand them all extremists and other slurs demonstrates exactly what is wrong with politics today...the utter disrespect and disregard for peoples opinions and views by those who think their views and opinions are superior and if you don't agree with them then you're either some form of 'ist' or stupid or something else.

Equality is a false idea...when we talk equality people often think of equality of outcome and the problem with that is people are not equal and to achieve an equal society in terms of peoples outcomes, you have to employ a significant amount of social engineering and tyrannical fascistic government - which seems to be the path the current government is trying to go down. In actual fact we should (and generally do) focus on equality of opportunity and the results of that are what they are and some people will do better in life than others...and that's OK. Generally successful people, whatever it is in life they are successful at, are successful due to a combination of natural talent and hard and focussed work and the willingness to take risks.

I have the privalege to know quite a few successful people...I'm a woeful under achiever among my friends and family, and every singe one of them have worked hard to achieve their successes and their successes have not come easily and only after either a number of spectacular failures or after many years of sacrifice working hard for years for nothing until things came good. They all thoroughly deserve their successes in life as they were hard fought and won. So it is easy to point at a successful (and rich) person and accuse them of being a 'bad rich person' who deserves to be hammered with higher and higher taxes but that is ignorant and ignores the struggle that the vast majority of rich people have endured to achieve their success. Just as dismissive as branding everyone claiming benefits as lazy benfit scroungers.

Think people dont know they're born sometimes. The last lot were terrible and people were desperate to get rid of them but boy have we jumped from the frying pan into the fire. I dont think political reform is the answer per se judging by our European neighbours...who are largely in just as bad a situation as we are if not worse, so the idea of multiple political parties and a hodge podge of a committee of a government is not the nirvana that many waffle on about - they've generated the the same extremes of the left and the right as much as our system - moreso in some cases, they have spawned just as pathetic, weasels of a corrupt and political elite trying to force their ideals onto the masses, and suffer from all the managed decline that we are suffering. So if you really want to tear up our whole political system for something else you're going to have to come to the party with a stronger case than what we see going on with our European neighbours right now, because from where I'm sat the grass is definitely not greener. In fact we've had more success than them in fostering a new party that appeals to people with reform despite our political system. Whenever someone comes up in Europe to disrupt the political discourse the other factions just gang up and block them...that is not democratic.

Where did you get that from? I had thought the opposite was true, that no 10 would support the ICC and it's rulings.

When I heard the home secretary being interviewed the other day, when asked about the ICC and Netanyahu, to paraphrase, she said "it's not a government matter, it's up to the courts. We have a legal process that must be followed".
It wasn't the government that announced the energy price cap is increasing, it was Ofgen.
