The sheer gall of this clown! I swear to God you couldn’t make it up!

I am no fan of Johnson but he apologised for his part in party-gate he refused to step down when the report was published and now he has won vote of confidence how long do you want this to continue?

Until he steps down and resigns?

If he was going to do that he would have already gone he will stay until he is pushed and that will not be in the next 12 months as we have discussed, to be honest i want him to stay this is the best chance Labour have of winning the next election with a weak PM in place.

With the amount of Conservative Mps voting against him, 40 %, it is very unlikely he lasts very long.
The upcoming by elections will seal his fate.

Speaking your mind can get you in a whole lot of trouble these days, end of

Do you have any reasoning, or is this just religious for you?
No not religious, and i have no political leanings in any direction, reason being since the day i born in 1953 nothing has changed apart from the fact the *******s get caught quicker with the world being an electronic village thanks for asking :beer1:

Boris will do whatever he can to stay in power until he's forced out, and having won a vote of confidence he can't be forced out for 12 months now.

As far as I know, the 12 month rule is made up by the 1922 committee.
Any analysis I have read/heard since the no-confidence vote, says that the rules can be altered by the conservative party.

And reading around this, it doesn't seem like the actual rules are published anywhere... so basically they can make it up as they go along.

“Got caught? Just apologise! Until you get caught? Just lie!” seems to be Boris’s answer to everything!

Personally, I hope he stays until the next election; to act as a reminder to the Voting Public of how badly they are being governed!
:hat:

Is the main beef with Boris Johnson that he lied about the party during COVID or is there a bit more/much more? I don't follow our politics or yours so take the question that way.
From what I've absorbed here, Johnson doesn't seem as bad as our 45th. When I was paying attention, the difference seems to be that Johnson got caught and so admitted it (not admirable but just a survival response.). You could never get our previous president to admit to a lie or wrongdoing even when there was film or pictures of it.

One of the problems is that he is allowed to repeat time and time again things that are not true, (in another age 'lies') and not challenged , become to be seen to be the truth.
The sooner he is out...

Johnson hasn't admitted to doing wrong. He has admitted to paying a fine for an offence that the police thought was
breaking the law, he didn't think that that he was breaking the law.
The main offence is that he stood up in the House of Commons and said, more than once, that there was no law breaking in No 10 Downing Street.

Sorry but “Yes!” your last Prez was much worse, but Boris is catching up rapidly!

Boris didn’t just lie about Partygate (to the people and to Parliament) he is known to be a liar from way back and every time he is caught he apologises and the demands that people “Move on!”

Remember, before Brexit he had an “Oven Ready” solution for everything and we are still sorting out the mess!

Shhh!!! we aren't allowed to mention Brex...

Boris is catching up rapidly!
Thanks for the info.

I'm pretty sure you're at least half joking but if you aren't as far as Boris Johnson catching up? I don't want to go waving the US flag here and getting all patriotic or "our country does X better than yours" but there is no way your guy, Boris, can ever compare to our crazy criminal.
I admire that you all have higher standards.
